I really agree with that above statement. IG can be really characterful, they seem the most relatable and diverse in a ton of ways! I really love what you've done here.

would it be bad to ask for a group shot of the Ig youhave done so far?

Red looks good now,i like the battle damage aswell, are you going to be using gold or silver for the metallics? or a mixture? i think it would clash too much using too much gold. what do you think?

What pleasure it gives to this amateur hobbyist to gaze upon such awe-inspiring work! Really, I mean it! Read through the whole thread, and I gotta say, this has to be one of the best IG armies I've ever seen! Keep up the good work

Thanks man, that really very nice of you to say.

As for the other colours. I'm not sure what I'll do about metallics yet. I may do non metallics. I'll see how I feel when I get there.

Thanks again to everyone for their feed back.

Well heres an update on the Inq, pretty much finished, Im not sure about the base and the lighting, it does look better irl but not quite good enough. i think i'll have to tone it back a bit and blend into the red abit more. Im also not too happy with the face/head, but as i have said before, im quite lazy. So i doubt i'll ever revisit it. Im still thinking that something is missing, it may be the base, but im thinking how some free hand on the armour, but im not sure yet. If i do, im thinking of scroll work with a skull and Something like this -> but in non met gold. or maybe creams.

Iv also done a few group shots as requested.

Any and all comments welcome

Thanks. I dont really want to go too over the top with any free hand, I'd like to keep it subtle. But I do agree, it needs something extra to make it pop.

Thanks, im still not 100% happy with how this has turned out, but i very scarcely am. I think the main thing im unhappy with, is the base. all my basing of late has been quite lazy,. Not putting much detail or effort into them and i think it shows. oh well, better luck next time.

Speaking of which, although im quite busy with a few projects and non hobby-ing stuff at the mo, i'm thinking about doing a diorama based around this army, well the colours anyway. Im either going to go for a simple one or two, or a huge one. This would contain IG maybe an Inq and a Valk/Chimera Vs nids. But im thinking a small, more simple one would do the trick, at least to start with.

You could do one of those dioramas where the models used are still on their bases, just put in or magnetized or whatever have you, allowing for required coherency and appropriate detail of the bases. One of the things I've been meaning to get around to doing, as it does give an actual idea of where they are, what they're doing, how to base, etc. But yes, keep it up as you do, and post back with MOAR PICS!

I think I might put a display base together for the existing minis, but for any diorama I will just set them into the price.

Iv been thinking about the details of a few dioramas, one called "hold the line" one called "clam before the storm" and one called "a tight spot"

Hold the line - small group ig holding a position against nids, with a srgt/comissar shouting at his men. Maybe a coward trying to hide and an IG getting downed.

Calm before the storm - cross section of a chimera holding storm troopers preparing for a fight.

A tight spot - 3 or so IG cornered by nids, clearly out numbered and going to die.

i like the ideas! i would see how you could make the dioramas work while still havingthe models be able to be taken out and used in a game.

maybe have each one against different villians.

I would love to see the hold the line display having guard against truescale chaos marines, it would be an interesting thing to see!

do you have an idea of how far you will go with this, 1500 points, 2000 points, or some sort of plan? Or is it just a whatever ends up interesting during the time!
