The Red is quite easy really, just start with Mechrite Red nice and solid built up with thin coats, wash with badab black, back over with a thin Mechrite Red, just over the raised areas keeping out of the deepest shaded areas and trying to thin it out into the shaded areas, then use Scab Red, Red Gore building up the colour on the raised areas (mixing more and more red gore into scab red), getting thinner each time. Then finish with a thin, fine highlight of Blood red.

The blade is just black with dark blue to white highlights on some of the edges and flat areas, i always try to keep the highlights running in the same direction, as to indicate the direction of light, especially on the flat areas.

Hope thats helpful.

I’m now trying to come up with a titan paint scheme, in not sure to go for camo, a similar scheme as the troops, or a combo.

I was thinking about black main hull section and shoulders, beige leg armour and red head. With some free hand on the armour sections. What do you think?

ooooo pretty titan_

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

Thanks.

Just sprayed a few minis with foundation paint, hopeing it dries out ok, i really dont like using spray guns, much prefer the old fashioned way.

Decided to give the titan a coat from a can, not the gun.

I'd suggest you consider the idea of a Titan in shining armour metallic with gold trim. Possibly stereotypical A-M Red and black with bronze trim might work.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

I've been following your blog for a little while now and color me impressed. I have a scout IG army in the works, using the FW Cadian rebreather heads as well... and I'm getting a lot of inspiration from your pics.

I particularly like the red trim idea. Keep up the good work, can't wait to see the Warhound Titan.

Holy cow, this thread grew by 2 pages since the last time I saw it! These guys are looking awesome. I love the FW techpriest, I can't believe that you made it EVEN BETTER than when I first saw it. Good job!

As for the elysian heads... I don't like the style of the heads that much but you rock them... they look really good on your minis!

The titan is spectacular! I made one out of cardstock and paper and it doesn't look nearly as good, but it looks like we may have used the same templates. I would definitely go for the vulcan and maybe a plasma blaster if you are going for xenos-killing.

This is why I hate painting / modelling lol. My stuff will never ever look this good, and it makes me want to drop my stuff into a big vat of lacquer thinner.

Envy is an ugly thing though =P , these models are all gorgeous, congrats.

Gwar: I'm going to quit while I can.

Anyone can paint to this standard really, i mean i wouldn't say im that great. All you need is pactience, and time to practice. Also i can't recommend more highly listening to advice and step by step guides etc.

You should have seen some of my 1st minis, they didn't look anything like this, lol.

Quick question,
How do you paint your armor.
Is that normal chaos black? I see little brown on your armor or just my eye problem?

Its is Chaos Black, but the all the highlights (three layers, darkest to lightest) are mixed with Dheneb Stone to keep them neutral, i find that if you mix white to make a "true grey" it is a little bit too harsh. But depending on what army colours you are going for, try mixing in a little red, brown, blue or green, it makes highlighting easier and more dynamic.

Hope that helps.
