It builds up on mine. I just so rarely take hits because everything dies in 1-2 bites. I know because I took a little fall damage, which really built the meter up.

I did a duel between a tamed giga and an untamed one to test it out. Tamed one didn't build up rage. In fact, the tame one lost, because of the rage effect on the untamed one, in spite of being four times the level and having an ascended saddle.
Rage doesn't build up on normal combat damage, but it DOES build up on fall damage.

I seem to recall getting rage on some bronto hits, not much but i think it was there. I think the Giganto has some bugs though. He seems to cause huge amounts of lag too.

Thinking about it, I could kill someone who is riding a giga fairly easily-- fly up and grab them with my argent, fly up and drop them-- but the giga itself... don't think I can. I tested it out... with the amount of HP it has, it took over 500 headshots from an ascended assault rifle that had ~775% damage and didn't die.
Even high-level rexes would be wiped out by a single magazine of that assault rifle. That thing though? it took more than ten magazines.

Just got a 2nd Giga(lvl20 female). And I have begun breeding them.

fighting a giga with anything other than a giga is going to result in dead stuff. i think they could easily drop a zero from the HP and dmg and this dino would be better, right now if you encounter one you are screwed.
Yeah, it's not like you can outrun it. It's faster than a sprinting rex or carnotaur, about the only thing that can outrun it is a flier or a speed-tamed raptor... and maybe not the raptor.

So both my gigas just got killed.
I was out leveling one, then my base was attacked by 2 wild level 16 gigas. I ran back and lost the other giga.
Fortunately all I lost was the gigas, 2 birds, and an Anklyo. But still super depressing. Wild gigas basically beat any tame giga regardless of level. Its stupid. At least I have their egg, so maybe I'll be able to hatch one.

Mhm. Both wild and tamed gigas are overpowered, but wild ones definitely have the edge over tamed ones.
