Been toying with the idea of selling off my second and still sealed copy of Space Hulk. However, the ebay market is somewhat flooded at present. The copies that are selling are only going for slightly over the retail price (about £66.00). Opening the box and selling off the contents separately seems to earn you a bit more, but not a lot.

What price have you seen wargames stuff sell for on ebay recently? (any system, not just GW). Please list selling prices only i.e. there are countless individuals who seem to believe they can defy economics and price Space Hulk at £85.00 (or higher!), but they aren't shifting as far as I can see.

Release of the blud angles codex may well affect the price of the termies out of box and the tyranid codex may increase interest in the genestealers.

Yes, eBay is flooded with Space Hulks right now. The only way to make money on it is if you got it for wholesale. If you paid retail, hang onto it till the market is less full of it or sell it off in pieces which will net you a modest profit. I have extras too and am currently taking the wait a few months strategy.

And did you buy the second box to try and make a bit of profit from your fellow gamers?!

I bought three, but I'm planning on using them all myself, and not for ripping anyone off.

There was a mix up with my order, so I elected to buy a back up copy at the time in case I didn't get my original one (as sometimes occurs with GW). Knew there was a favourable chance of shifting the second copy on ebay and now just waiting for the right time

Well aren't you just mister wonderful.

Since when is offerring a product at a price people want to pay because they didn't buy it when it was available (and still is from GWUS) or breaking it into pieces ripping people off. Don't be so holier than thou.

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.

I bought a second box (still sealed), but I haven't decided if I'm going to save it to sell later, or just paint it up. I'm letting my Greed and Hoard instincts fight it out.

No, I bought them to raise money down the road for my own future game purchases. My there are some judgmental people out there :( I guess anyone who has ever sold an out of print collectible on eBay is evil.

A year from now when someone just finding out about Space Hulk wants a copy and the only ones available are on eBay auctions, etc., what people are willing to bid will determine the what they pay. It's no different than any other out of print collectible up for auction. I suppose people selling their Sgt. Centurius models on eBay for $60 when the model only cost $8 originally are ripping people off?! Don't get your exercise jumping to conclusions.

This is what i thought of doing when GW said it was Limited Edition.

But having doubts that this is just their sales strategy i didnt go along with the plan.

And phew ^^

Luna, I just noticed your location. Kasumi reference?.

Sorry, OT.

I got myself a total of four boxes. First one is for me to keep and play. Second was broken up and sold on eBay, except for the Marines who are in my bits box for conversion fodder. Last two are still sealed, waiting for the Blood Angels and Nids to have their releases, at which time I'll break the boxes and part them out on eBay.

My guess is that if it weren't for people stocking up on "extras" to sell later on eBay the initial release would never have sold out in the UK!

They have been available all along... i googled space hulk a month ago, and found a link to order it on the gw site you couldnt navigate to from the site home page itself... guess what, they still had plenty of games and didnt bat an eye at the order, even though they told everyone they were 'sold out' a month earlier.

It's a load of s*** lol, i love these emails they send out saying they 'found a pallet in the back of a warehouse' LOL... its not 1920, they have electronic inventory systems just like everyone else lol. They know exactly how many they have, we don't, and they can print off more whenever they like to. They weren't numbered.

I feel bad for people who scrambled to shell out for 2 boxes planning to sell them, having basically been told it was an investement. Low and behold they fooled people into shelling out knowing full well they themselves would be the ones to take advantage of the xmas rush...

borderline unethical, but a lesson for the rest of us. I would advise you to hold on to it til it is truly OOP....
