Anyone have any experience with this? I recently tried to download the "Turn-in List" off of the Warstore's Battlewagon Bitz section, but the "file" was a .zip file full of .xml docs that I couldn't open. Does anyone know how to properly view an .xml file?

Or am I just doing something wrong?

Thanks for the help folks!

That's the Office 2007 format actually. Sometimes browsers will change the file extension but you can still just ask word or whatever to open it and it will. Or just rename it whatever.xlsx, I might be wrong on the new excel extension though.

The problem is I don't know which one to open. There are like several folders with .xml files in them, so which one is the one that I need to open?

Turns out I had about $60 of bitz I was never going to use lying around. Who knew, right? Looks like a new battleforce is in my future

I love their bitz trade in. There's so much stuff I never use, it's nice to be able to get something out of it.

I've used it before. Had ~$100 in bits laying around they wanted. Those bits got me the beginnings of my Karman army when they first came out.

Maybe i'm doing something wrong, but none of those files open into anything but a picture or a spreadsheet of data that doesn't make sense.

It works for me but I'm running office 2007. Try emailing them, they should probably repost it in an older format or as a PDF to make it more accessible.

There appears to be some sort of error in the latest file, probably associated with the new format. Removing the .zip should make it work fine-- do not unzip the file, merely remove the .zip from the filename.

I have had nothing but good experiences with the bitz trade-in service, as I've come to expect from TheWarStore. They are probably the best online retailer I've ever used.

Thank you for telling me that much, and im sorry to have to ask, but how might i go about doing that? The only name i can find is BWBtradein there is no .zip to remove, and the downloader forces me to download it in zip format, i'm not that good with computers so ayudame por favor.

If the file automatically unzips, you should be able to recompress it in ZIP format, then rename it to BWBtradein.xlsm, which should work just as well. All of this advice is for a Mac, by the way-- I'm not sure how to do this on a PC.

So with a few other posters suggesting that this should be an Office 2007 Excel spreadsheet, I was able to open the list finally. Basically, when you download it, choose "SAVE". The window should pop up asking you where you want to save it and what you want to call it. I saved it to the Desktop, and renamed the file using single quotes, which tells the computer that you want to manually designate the file type. So I saved the file as:

'BWBitztradein.xlsm'

That made it an excel file that I was then able to open. Hope that works for everyone else that was having trouble. I can send a more detailed list of instructions with screenshots if anyone wants, just PM me.

EDIT:

And this latest Bitz form is pretty short, so don't get your hopes up.

This is coming from an IT guy (who should probabily be working):

I downloaded the file and then renamed it to BWtradein with no file extension. Windows asked if I was sure that I wanted to do that. After that, the icon was the default Windows icon. I opened the file and was presented with a list of programs to use for opening it. I chose Excel and the file opened correctly.
