So I decided to buy myself an iPod (8GB) for Christmas from cash converters. As is to be expected, it is second-hand and somewhat chock full of stuff. [posh]Most of which (though not all) I find quite lacking in taste. [/posh] I just want to ask how to delete, and heck, download songs on this thing. I've never used an iPod thingy-mijigy before so I'm quite in the dark. Any help would be much appreciated.

BTW, if someone could tell me how to change the title of the thing as well. I don't want my iPod to continue to be named 'Angie-Babies iPod'.

I think you need to download iTunes to start monkeying with it?

I think you sort it via Itunes in your computer first.

The only thing ipod does is sync with the info in your itune.

Yep. Download iTunes, and sync the iPod to your computer. That should wipe it, and allow you to start from scratch. Though I've never done with an iPod that wasn't mine to begin with, so I don't know how that will affect the name.

You can change the name of the Ipod in the same way that you could with any removable hard drive.

Just keep the down load simple , Itune itself and no extra things.
It works like a normal mp3 player , but you have to remember to press eject before pulling the plug out.

You have to use any program , window media player works . And choose Rip option to turn it into mp3.

Upon selecting to listen to the newly ripped mp3 , it automatically gets saved into itune's play list.
which is imported into the ipod's library after syncing.

Rip to iTunes, sync with iPod.

Then go to Macintosh HQ in order to receive your JOB...

CDs are easy to put on - just pop the CD in with iTunes open, and iTunes will automatically put all the songs from the CD onto the iTunes Library. From there, you can simply add the ones you want to the iPod.
