I've only watched the "new" series' (Eccelsten onwards), but my favourite episode had to be the Cybermen Christmas speical.

It had the Cyberman version of Megatron in it .

I've tried watching the new Who and can't quite get into it. The Tom Baker Dr. was my favorite Dr. but unfortunately can't remember any specific Tom Baker episodes name, since it has been so long since I watched any. One of my all time favorites, that I do remember, is the one where the 5 doctors got together to battle The Master.

Anyone else feel Adric was a wimpy wuss who deserved to cark it?

Favourite Story - Battlefield. This story revealed The Doctor as Merlin.
Favourite Doctor - Sylvester McCoy. The Greatest Doctor who never got the chance to shine, dark, sinister, alien and yet humorous. If there's ever a 40k movie, this guy should play an inquisitor.
Companion - Tegan, she was hot as feck. Martha Jones second, like McCoy she didn't have a proper chance to shine and I think she had a lot more to offer than the scripts allowed.
Favourite Bad Guys - Sea Devils are cool.

curse of fenric was an amazing episode, alternate reality hemavores from the future. i always thought that adric spent most of his time wining to the doctor especially with the 5th doctor

I believe I first saw Dr. Who back in 1964. As I recall, it was an episode in which a couple of people followed a little girl to the Tardis and ended up among cavemen.
It scared the crap out of my Siblings and myself as kids, but we loved watching it.

I just started watching it a couple of months ago and it's pretty good. Haven't watched it completely though.
IIRC the eps I've seen are the one where they're on that Diamond planet where the light is toxic, the two part one where the universe is almost destroyed by the reality bomb and there are three Doctors and a few others from the same series when they had a special on for some reason and it went for a full day (that's the first time I saw it, but the eps I do remember happened a fair while after it (maybe 6-8 months)).

In my defence MGS, i was 12 at the time. and most of the time Tegan wore the most 80's outfits possible. I think Jo Grant, Leela and the first Romana were all more attractive than Tegan

He does jerk off all over the 'he's the doctor, he keeps pulling off amazing gak and he's a national treasure!' thing.

I mean, the master is back, he's gnawing on human bones and sporting a rubbish blonde hairdo and the doctor is chasing him whilst he 'hulk jumps' about and then the escapees from about 20 Sun Life Pensions adverts all show up and take pictures of him and feel him up.

Just poor.

Somewhere in south-central England.

Torchwood has come to Japan. It was clever of the BBC to write a Japanese actress into it.

Back on topic, my favourite doctor was always Jon Pertwee because of my age. I also liked Peter Davison. I reckon Sylvester McCoy could have been great if he was given the chance. I like Chris Eccleston but he was a bit of a placeholder. David Tennant is great though the whole series suffers a bit from Russel T Davis's scripts. His role was the energiser and champion of renewing the series. He is not the best scriptwriter IMO.

Fave companion -- Perri.

The first episode i remember seeing was the sea devils episode with Jon Pertwee, hooked ever since. i do feel that davis's overall arc wasn't well thought out, the premise was amazing, but if you put a time lock on an event stop making exceptions all the time, although i do like the parallel dimension cybermen. the one thing the arc hasn't been able to damage is the actors, i couldn't be able to think of any other actors to fill those roles (even Donna).

I do have one wish though, that Paul McGann actually had some more episodes, the radio plays he stars in as the doctor are always a good listen

I haven't seen much of Dr Who, and only started watching it because I was bored and some of my friends were David Tennant Fangirls.

He manages to to pull of the whole "Now this is whats happening. It's serious, but I'm going to work it out BECAUSE I AM SPECIAL!!! WHEEEE" without being too corny.

Thats always been the joy of watching Dr Who, you believe it is possible no matter how fantastical, David Tennant has been one of the best incarnations of the character

Forever alone

Blink and The Satan Pit are both great episodes, and I'd have to say David Tennant is my favourite Doctor. He has that DW flamboyancy but can also do the whole 'dead serious' thing really well.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

England.

Call me odd but I really liked the first series of the new Dr Who. The script writing was reasonably strong and Eccleston is actually a really good actor. That being said the Second series of the new stuff was the best. It still had decent script writing, it had David Tennant, the Rose-Doctor thing was handled decently and there wasn't too much ott stuff. However it did have that horribly bad episode with Peter Kay.
The last two series were both pretty good and had some amazing individual episodes (Blink, Silence in the libary) but both finales were a massive let down with to much implausability and OTTness. The first half was usually good but then it went all ewwy in the last half with a lame cop out of a victory such as the 'if you all think his name he will get better' one.

I'm actually looking forward to the new series. Matt Smith actually looks like a really good actor and the best script writer is taking over. Hopefully more Blink and Silence in the libary quality of scripts.

I think that matt smith won't be as bad as everyone has been thinking (plus his forehead does look as big as it does in publicity pics). the one great thing about the loss of tennant is the loss of RTD's poor scripts and flag waving (we know your gay, if you stop making such a big deal about it, you'll stop being a 'gay writer' and become just a writer, thats what equality is) Moffat has written the best scripts of the new series, having him leading the helm instead of being second mate, will lead to the show going from strenght to strenght (i think Moffat could get Dr Who a bafta as best drama, year after year)
