Hypothetically, how would it be possible for someone who is not a store manager to see box art for GW models up to 4 months in advance of the release?

Without naming the person, would it be possible for a person to find this information without being given it? Or is it all based on some techno encrypted or secure pdfs etc through emails?

I know GW store managers can pre order stuff many months in advance.

In the Webway.

That probably depends on whether the person who designs the box art works for GW, which he/she probably does.

I wouldn't be surprised if store managers, especially for GW stores, effectively order 'blind.' They're pretty much obligated to get a small amount of every new release, after all.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.

No you don't, because they can't.

Once upon a time, all staff got early pre-orders. That has been gone for some time.

Surely all GWs get all new releases so staff don't need to "pre-order" such items, they are simply sent from HQ for the release date.

My understanding is that the GW store managers have meetings every 6 months or so (could be annually) where they are told what is coming out in the next year. At this point they can make 'pre orders', but I don't know if that is just for them personally or for the stores.

There have been a few times I have noticed people mention these meetings.

Anyhow, to answer Eldar Own, this person does not work for GW.

He mentioned that he had seen pics of some things 4 months ago, and I'm curious as to how. I believe he has seen them.

Probably just a leak somewhere.

He's in the US. You're in the UK. There might be different ways of doing things - I'm not saying there is, just that there might be.

So no need to be a dick about it MDG.

He knows a guy who has a cousin who used to work with an ex-redshirt that found this place called BOLS. )

GW store managers do not make orders that far out for their stores, if at all. Most merchandise is simply shipped to them based on what they have sold, or projections of future sales of new products. Computerized ordering systems replace a lot of the decision making at the store level.

I took this to mean that store managers pre-order things for the STORE many months in advance...typical retail operating procedure.
