Subject: For something serious......

My bro and I got into a discussion (actually more a disagreement because he was trying to claim validity) about the New World Order. I am not talking about the wrestling trio from the early 2k's consisting of Hogan, Kevin Nash and Triple H. I am talking about Illuminati, the FreeMasons and how conspiracy theorists are trying to claim that the world (and not just the US) is being brainwashed into thinking that we, as a world, are a free people while in the background the "NWO" is plotting to stamp out freedom all over and basically rule the world........ONE body, ONE mind, ONE conscience and that the NWO is planning to some day declare marshal law and if you don't follow what they say you will be put into camps until you do or be killed and buried.
If you go onto youtube and search for "nwo conspiracy" you will see lots of videos about the FreeMasons and the secret society and how certain symbols of the free masons equate to satanism and how in presidential speeches the candidates/newly elected use the phrase "New World Order". Also look up "plastic coffins" on youtube. Apparently FEMA, a government run medical agency has 500,000 grave liners sitting in a secure location somewhere in GA. The conspiracy theorists say it is to line the graves of all the people that they will be killed right off the bat due to not being followers of the NWO. Apparently they know who is who (Obama and both Bush's and Clinton are behind this plot) amongst the followers and any political/religious leaders that aren't with them will be killed, hence the 1/2M grave liners.
Now, I don't believe the tripe anymore than I do the 911 "truthers" but it's serious because my brother actually started getting insulting when I laughed at him over it. How many others believe this could be something to worry about? How many feel that 911 was a US government cover up? My bro is normally pretty level headed (though since Obama took office he seems to think the world will end). I don't believe it will but I don't believe he'll make it better (as I've stated numerous times and I won't get into it again).
Again, this apparently affects the world (apparently even the Pope and Roman Catholic Church are behind NWO).
I'm serious so let's try to discuss this like adults.

Here's a better question:
If the NWO is indeed real, and fully capable of carrying out its plan, what good can anticipating that fact possibly do? After all, something that well planned would not fail to anticipate the power of paranoia.

Unfortunately it's not just my bro who feels this.
I've known about the Free Mason thing for a while but just never took it serious. Even before youtube warped this gak to hell.
My bro doesn't listen to any of the major media nutjobs (left or right). Like I said, while I don't believe the videos they are there. I do wonder thought what use FEMA has for 500,000 coffin liners.
Speaking of which I need to watch Angels and Daemons. Also the trailer for "Book of Eli" looks good. I might have to research that subject.
I also will not tolerate personal attacks on my bro. Any I construe as such will be reported. Not implying you two will, this is a warning for those who might try to do so (God knows I'm not the most well liked on this board).

Human civilization has been secretly steered and cultivated for thousands of years. Perhaps these secret efforts have not always been successful, or perhaps they only do so much, in an attempt to keep it being so obvious. They're working on a time scale that ordinary people cannot imagine, and they have been at this long enough that you're right, it doesn't matter at this stage of the game that some people know about it. Hell, that might even be part of their plan, slowly coming out into the open to avoid panic. You can refuse to believe if you want, it makes no difference.

I guess that is the thing. I cannot see society as a whole coming together on anything for the time frame we are talking here and not warring with one another.
Not to mention, if NWO wins out and does become one governing body wouldn't human nature mean that everyone taking part in the "big plan" would want the "ultimate" control.
Unless the NWO seek to rule the world as more of a senate, with not one ruling person but a ruling body, their will be civil anarchy within their own ruling caste.
Again, I don't believe it for a minute. The truthers don't want to hear the truth about 911 because they believe their own truths about the explosions and buildings falling but you are free to believe what you want. I just brought this up because it shocked me as to how serious my bro was about it.
Let's try to be civil. Any attacks won't be tolerated and mods asked to take action. I am willing to discuss this levelly (and lets also not get into a religious flame war though I feel that will happen).

I would suggest you try and find a copy of a "Solving the Lost Symbol" (I think it was called that) It's by Tony Robinson and was shown on UK TV over Xmas. I was slightly disappointed in it, but it was ok. It dealt with with Brown's "The Lost Symbol" book. After watching it, you wonder how he got away with that little "truth" statement at the beginning

Live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about his religion. Respect others in their views and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life. Beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and of service to your people. When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.

I haven't read the book, but it could be something similiar to the Coens putting "THIS IS A TRUE STORY. The events depicted in this film took place in Minnesota in 1987. At the request of the survivors, the names have been changed. Out of respect for the dead, the rest has been told exactly as it occurred." at the beginning of Fargo. It isn't true at all of course. Joel Coen, when asked about it stated, "If an audience believes that something's based on a real event, it gives you permission to do things they might otherwise not accept.". It helps set the mood.
As for conspiracy theories, Pen and Teller did a good episode of their show Bullsh!t about them. In essence people want to believe that there is an order to the world and not that things can happen randomly. Horrific order is preferable to 'things can just happen'.

That's what I find most ludicrous is that certain "officials" are put there by design. Like apparently Kennedy was taken out because he wasn't one of "them" (though many other conspiracies abound regarding Kennedy I thought this was the most ludicrous).
Fargo is soooooooooo not true. Our accent isn't THAT bad.

The freemasons, especially those in the early US were leaders, but they believed in free speech and personal freedom. On top of this the freemasons of today are made up of mostly top-working to lower-middle class, it is now just a social club. the reason these groups come together is simple rich people like to hang out with rich people, working class people like to hang with working class people and so on, they're not planning to take over the world, they're planning the next golf and dinner day. Dan Brown and other conspirasy theorists seem to forget this simple fact. Automatically Appended Next Post: Sorry for the double post, but the coffins think is easy, incase of an outbreak of a contagous disease. the dead bodies need to be delt with before they start to, for a better phase, pile up. its one of many worst case scenarios that a goverment would plan for.

Seconded on the rather less sinister, and completely sane explanation for having a stockpile of coffins. Especially given post 9/11, Governments need to be able to deal with mass casualties at the drop of a hat (or I dunno...dirty bomb?) to keep the populace safe and secure. 500,000 sounds about right for a single instance, and no doubt there are more stockpiles here and there that just haven't been found.
As for 9/11. Whilst I believe there might have been wholely understandable porkiepies about the flight that crashed (tell people the dead were Heroes gives hope and courage. Tell them they were shot down, and some will feel you acted wrongly), the sheer number of people it would take to organise and pull off such an audacious coverup would be huge. Somewhere down the line, someone would blow the whistle, and that particular house of cards would come crashing down.
Plus, it's often espoused as a Bush stratagem to go and kick off in Afgahnistan. But he'd hardly been in the White House when it happened, so that's a lot of planning etc to be done solidly and perfectly in such a short space of time.
Screw you Loose Change. You're a paranoid weirdo desperate for a bit of fame. You could have simply streaked at the Superbowl, but no, you had to go and make up daft conspiracy theories. Idiot.

The Last Chancer Who Survived

I've been reading about a secret society of mostly young men and a few old ones and 1 or 2 females too, who are generals in training and sources say they are planning to take over the world. To train themselves in military tactics they collect and paint small metal and plastic men and fight battles with them on 4x6 pieces of plywood and use styrofoam to represent different battlefield obstacles like hills or buildings. These individuals don't seem threatening in person (even though some are apparently allergic to soap and never take baths) and they keep their sinister goals to themselves unless you can find one of their message boards where they argue about battle tactics and show pictures of their would-be armies. we have to stop these people from assuming control of our world's military or our entire existence is doomed.
