Drop Trooper with Demo Charge

Hi there.
So a while ago I started an IG AirCav list with no less than 4 Valkyries and 2 Vendettas. Supported on the ground by 4-6 Chimera variants.
The Chimeras will be based on the AT-43 ONI AFV.
However, I've never really liked the sidemounted weapons on the Valkyrie. So what to do?
Well I started by cutting and trimming the nose on cockpit, added a bit of plasticard and a magnet. Then took a Dread TwinLascannon, trimmed the back a bit and repositioned the muzzles. With the Multilaser, I took a VenDread arm and a multilaser from a sentinel. And with a little cutting and greenstuff...Tada!!
I really like the new look, and I hope that it will serve as an inspiration to you!
Enjoy B)

The New Miss Macross!

i like the conversion. i never understood why they put the weapon on the side of the valk instead of chin mounted like most attack helicopters; i guess they were trying to emulate airplanes more with their cannons mounted off to one side. anyways, it definitely looks better. just don't be suprised if you find some unimaginative individual that is crying about you modelling for an advantage since the valk weapon is losing a bit of the blind spot it has being mounted on the side.

Have you seen the FW Vulture Gunship? It has a heavy bolter mounted just as you have done. Well executed conversion!

Heh... I did exactly the same thing for my Vendetta (although I also used side mounted rather than wing mounted TLLC. See my Gallery if you're interested)
It looks good.

An outstanding conversion indeed! I would have never thought of using a dreadnaught lascannon arm. I did consider a razorback weapon with land raider sponsons under the wings for a vendetta

Thank you all!
-For the probe, I used a piece of plastic tube and bitz from a leftover Orbital-Relay-Thingy from the Bastion kit.

For some reason it reminds me of a HIND D soviet attack chopper now.... I wonder If Monogram still makes that 1/35 scale helicopter still( might make a great valkire/ vendetta with weapon modifications.
