Here is my first Warhammer 40k army.
The army started out being a Lost and the Damned force but this list is not tournament legal so I had to find an alternative,
which ended up being The siege of Vraks volume 3 Servants of decay army list.
I wanted to give the army a the feel of being a ragtag bunch of low level scum fighting against the false god.
So here are the first pictures, more is done, and more is in the making. I'll be updating this as I get more pictures

I enjoy the bright vibrant colors of your army. On some pieces the red really stands out to the point I believe a bigger contrast is needed. My suggestion would be to wash out the bright red with like a Baal red that darkens it slightly as not to be the focal point of any piece.

Your earthshaker is a prime example of a better red that is not overpowering imo. Good job on that bad boy. Particularly love the death counter on it.

UPDATE
Most of the troops (which I painted quite long ago) are now swimming in simple green, tomorrow I'll head to my local FLGS and GW to pick up a few paints and a set of washes, and I should be getting my forge world package pretty soon with my weathering powder, I'll be ready to paint them up to some higher standards.

Alright, having not much money to spend on minis recently I went over most of my foot slogging troops and started repainting them, some of the models were 2 years old and a paint job made them look a lot better but I kept all the models that were painted when I started to get my models to an OK standard. Pictures in fisrt post (There will be a picture of every unit of this army in the first post).

Awesome sculpt buddy, my only suggestion would be to make the cross sections on the eye (at least I think it's an eye... never can quite tell with nurgle) a little deeper, they just seem a lil flat to me.

What did you use to file off the Aquillas?

I like them, they certainly look rag-tag so you got the right idea there... I quite like the earthshaker emplacement but it needs to be more emplacementy, maybe add some sandbags?

Sentinels look really cool tho, red needs darkening down...

A scalpel, not a hobby knife, a very sharp surgical scalpel, it cuts through plastic (and flesh) very easily. I'm not enough patient for files.

When I get to buy some foam it will get a crater base. But sandbags are a pretty good idea, I'll try to sculpt some and if I fail I'll buy some.

I'm loving this post like DJ Pied Piper. Great shades of red and well painted chaos symbols.

Thanks for the comment, a funny fact about the red in this army is that it's painted in very different ways (with different paints!) depending on how I feel but it always come up very similar.

If this thread gets a good amount of messages I'll appreciate updating it every week, otherwise I don't like wasting your and my time.

If you have tips and tricks to give me, go ahead, I didn't make this thread only to showoff. I want to get better.
Also if you want to how I did something, which bits I used, what color of paint is something, I'll be more than happy to answer any question about this army.

Its a great army, only just discovered it, but i have a few small critiques...

Firstly, your current commander looks slightly top heavy... he looks like hes got a gorrilla body shape. Secondly, the Plaguehulk seems absolutely grand, but i think you could do more with the head...

Now, the good stuff
Your painting has hardly any faults and your freehand far surpasses mine. I like your army, and the white chaos symbols really pop on these models. keep up the good work!

Thanks a lot, I have the same issues with the plague hulk and my current commander model, which is why he is the -current- commander, whenever I get a better commander model he is going out.

It's nice to see traitor guard armies, so much more characterful than regular Cadian armies.

Welcome to the Traitor-Guard! We need more converts to keep that ole false emperor in line. Nice work so far.

Oh, real scrappy! What I wouldn't give to let my IG fight your traitorous scum Looks real good, colour scheme and wear and tear looks just as it should.

If you could give us some more close-ups of the commander however? Considering the sculpting job you did on the Nurgle walker, I'd think you'd be up to the task of giving the commander some... heh... "gifts" from Daddy Nurgle. Leading and gathering troops against the "false" god you'd think he'd sort of become more like a Nurgle Champion than a simple renegade Imperial Commander. Or not, if that doesn't fit your fluff. Just a thought A boil here or there, a sagging eye or some puss-spewing thingie. I see from here that the close combat weapon arm looks like it sports some sort of deformity. Can we get to look closer at that?

Liking your idea of chaos imperial guard .

Loving the mix of models, the weathering on the red and the earthshaker emplacement. This certainally adds up to one awesome renegade force, can't wait to see your new platoon painted! My only criticism, is that some of your metals seem a bit clean especially on the sentinels, If you rusted them up a bit like the legs on your defiler, you could have one awesomely rag tag on campaign style renegades. Other than that Awesomesauce!

But I digress, good work... keep it up.

You can zoom in the pictures using the Dakka Gallery, when I get around installing a better image editor on my comp you won't have to anymore.

Thanks, I'm currently looking for a website selling mig pigments to do weathering on tanks, the sentinels will be the test for those.

Considering they are a foot slogging army they are built to loose, and somehow I like the Idea of an Inquisitor crushing them.
