Hi, I am Reginleif as you can see and have just started with the actual tabletop of 40k since Christmas when I got a Basilisk and the Battlepack for the Imperial Army/Guard ( What the hell is their name?).
I have since glued and sprayed all my infantry and heavy weapon teams and my Sentinel. I`m kind of not wanting to glue my Command Squad until my glueing skills improve( I hate skin leftovers on my minis!!^^)
My liking of Warhammer 40k started with dawn of war crusade as a friend showed it to me. I immediately fell in love with the background  ( Yeah, I´m a sucker for fluff.) Even if I didnt know at that time it would be so grimdark  . I started reading Lexicanum articles in my free time (talk about a waste of time but hey it`s fun )
The price of the minis put me off from starting until I found wayland games on this site
so that`s all there is to say for now
and hugs all around^^ 
even if probably EVERYONE KNOWS THIS PIC^^

thank you thank you^^ Oh yeah and I ordered the core book (hardcover for 40.00 euros and the a**hole ripped me of with the fourth edition!!) Ill probably just get the fifth edition softcover . I would really like to know what the big difference between the editions is^^

Oh and its the Imperial guard  or "meat for the grinder" as we are commonly termed lol and the picture made me laugh for sheer concept of "power hug".
Do you have the guard codex yet, because I think if you like the backstory, you will find it fantastic.
Oh is your Guard Cadian or Catachan?

1. The problem with the guard/ army comes from that in the german Language it is called the "Imperiale Armee" e.g. the imperial army
2. Yes, i have a german copy wich I bought off amazon for friggin 22.50  !! Yeah its normal but still!! Printed in China!!^^
3. absolutely love the backstory!! its so great!! Screw space marines we got the big rocket^^ ( I laugh each time I read the article about nork deddog)
4. Cadian to the bones yessiree!! Could field-strip a lasgun before I could walk XD
