I really want to use one as a giant in a WoC army.

The price is a bit (!) high, but I think it is rather nice, and fits the "Norse" theme nicely...

I don't think the Warstore stocks WARGODS/Crocodile Games stuff.

Anyone have a good site/source?

CMON store carries them.

I'm thinking will just attempt a sculpt of my own. Although the smaller ones will be the inspiration for my Troll conversions definitely!

I'll have to check CMON's store later (blocked at work).

But weren't there some unfortunate connections to the CMON store and another store that is now 'out of business' but caused a lot of people a lot of headaches?

Yeah New Wave Games, huge rip off. But they're out of business for years. No idea how the CMON store does.

Like K_K said... New Wave games.
Great for window shopping, HORRIBLE to give your money to.

As I understand it, CMON is run by the same people. Presumably, the CMON shop is, too.

Of course, if there were problems with the CMON shop, I'd imagine you'd have heard about it by now. KWIM?

True enough.

I've actually had no problems with the few purchases I've made with them, but they've been small purchases for 1 or 2 miniatures each time.

This beast is retail $75!

Still, like you said, no one's said anything bad yet!

What exactly came of all the problems with New Wave?

Could make an interesting alternate Giant, and the price doesn't bother me too much. I can either afford it, or I can't. Right now I can't, but give a few weeks, and I ought to be about nice.

Wait, Crocodile Games is still around and still making Wargods of Olympus? Could this year be the year they break their 64 year streak of only having test rules for it at GenCon?

If it's anything like their Titan Overlord, it's a lot of metal.

It *is* a lot of metal, and a lot of *money* too!

I really want one, and with no local game store, I'm OK with ordering one online, but I can't seem to find a store with a good discount offering one for sale.

I don't think that The Warstore stocks that line, unfortunately!

Can someone point me to a place online where I can buy The Abominable Snowbeast & Summoner from Crocodile Games... at a decent discount?

Thanks!

Argh! Sweet stuff like this always crops up after I've used up my monthly wargaming budget!

My WoC must have it. Looks like a long wait though, and that much metal will be a pain in the arse to assemble.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

That's the information I was looking for (in bold above).

I'm a bit leery of spending more than $20 to $25 with them until I know for sure...

I'll probably end up ordering The Abominable Snowbeast through FRP games, though I am not a fan of their steadily increasing shipping costs in relation to the size of the order.

I have some experience with the CMoN shop, but unfortunately it is not all good. I find that when the stuff you order is in stock and ready to go, they are fine and things get to you quickly. If the stuff turns out to be out of stock or there is a problem with the order, getting customer service is spotty. Reponses to email are often not forthcoming (something I consider very problematic from a store I order online from) and often times you have to chase your order through the system to get any response. Plus side, the phone number they give you to call is the owner's cell apparently, so at least you get someone who can find out what is going on well.

All told, I would rate them a 6 out of 10. Things eventually go well, but half of my orders have resulted in multiple personal calls to get straightened out, and I really hate that. Personally, if I find another online store that offers the same range of figures at similar prices, I would try them on my next order. The War Store already has all my business for things they carry, and not just due to price.

Not as many pieces as you'd expect, though. Heavy, but the bignormous Titan is only 7-8 pieces, IIRC. I think(going off what it looked like in the blister hanging on the wall at the FLGS) it's 2 Torso halves, 2 legs, 2 arms, and Head. Could be wrong on my count, though.

According to Crocodile Games:

Crocodile Games wrote:

The Abominable Snowbeast is a massive model, standing 4.25 inches tall and weighing over a pound of metal. The effect of this miniature on the battlefield is awesome to to see, as it towers over all other models.

Anyway, how's that compare to the old (OK, not THAT one) metal WFB giant?

Or the new plastic one?

That horn-snowman would make for a decent battle standard. I think Beastmen would find a gigantic magic horn an inspiring thing!
