Ok I played my freind twice so far , against his nob biker list, at 1250pts.... hes running two squads of nobs with a pain boy and HQ and specail chacarter, and about 20 gretchen .
My first game I ran two tact sqauds and two devies and a assault squad with a chaplian.....
First turn he turbo boosted.. so he got this 3+ COVER sav.... I empty every thing into both squads and only cause two nobs to go down...
It was Two las cannons, two plasma guns, 4 heavy bolters, 4 missile launchers , and 28 bolters into them...
make it short i end up killing all the gretchen and he only lost 4 nobs, but i wounded a hellva lot of them..
So we did a rematch, I did a death wing army.. which flared out to my advanage...( this army was made to take out the nobs and thats about it)
I end up wiping him out , but at the cost of one dreadnaught, two, five man squads of of termies, a command squad.... I was left with the hq and one squad left.
So what the best way of taking on the nob biker army in low points games??
Dark eldar?? or make a army to take them out and no other army??

Well as a player of Ork Bikers I can say that tons of firepower will bring them down, and by that I mean both lots of shooting and lots of "fire" power. Lots of flamers, burnas, heavy flamers and templates are murder to Nob bikers. Especially heavy flamers because they negate both their armor and their cover so that leads to lots of roasty toasty super expensive bikers.

I play Nob Bikers as well, and the best thing you can do is spread out your units. That makes it very difficult to multi-charge. Also, you need to focus ALL of your firepower into one squad, then the other. A good Nob Biker player will always take the STR8-9 wounds on the Warboss, which negates instant death. This makes demolisher cannons especially annoying, but massed firepower of any kind will do wonders if you focus on one squad then the other.

Throw a vindicator or three in your list with a 5-man tac squad to screen each from assault. Watch the hilarity as you drop strength 10 pie plates over and over into his nobs without him being able to effectively retaliate. You should get at least 2 turns of shooting in even if he goes first and those pies are guaranteed to take out a nob with every unsaved wound. 2 vindicators with a 10-man tac squad broken into 2 should only run you a little over 300 points. With the rest focus on dreadnoughts, missile launchers, and anything else strength 8 or up (even another vindicator.) I would recommend a couple tac squads in rhinos with melta/missile launcher to fire at the nobs as they wheel up and then use the speed of the rhinos to go after objectives and grots once the nobs are dealt with. TH/SS terminators also work to some degree. They're great for sending after a nob squad that's been weakened. Powerfists in your squads that you think will live to swing at I1 wouldn't be amiss either.

Well he was scared of the dreadnaught, since he has to hit him on front armour( he was ven too). My dread lasted all the way until turn five with a five man asault termie unit in support, But i still didnt kill off one nob squad Until the second Unit of power fist termies came in and mopped up..( i was rolling like crap that night) lots of ones and two).
But i also have too deal with other amry lists too out there... so I might have to out fit my termies with flamers or buy a few and add them in the army...

I think Dark Eldar would do well.
All those STR8 AP2 shots ignore the armor saves, insta-kill any nob on a bike because its 4(5), leaving only a 3+ cover save or a 4+ cover save to deal with (exhaust cloud is a permanent 4+ cover save). I can live with that, especially with the number of dark lances you can field in a low point game.

Very true, anything with lots of str 8 and ap 2 will devastate these super expensive squads. A 4+ cover save is great, but if you only save half of them you're losing massive points relatively quickly.
