Looking@ bumping up my orks from 1500 pts. To 1750,what are the best units to add for 250 pts ?

That entirely depends on what units you are currently fielding at 1500. There's no way to tell where you are going if you don't know where you've been.

Here's my list

biker boss (cb,bp,pk,as)
wazdakka
nob bikers (9) & painboy wound allocated out
warbikers (6) w/ nob (pk,bp) x 2
koptas w/ tl-rl (2), (1 w/buzzsaw) x 2
koptas w/ tl-rl (2)

My rule of thumb for bumping an army (and not just a list) up to play at higher points levels is this:

Take however much you want to increase your average list points by, and add 250.

It'll add versitility, and it will allow you to try new things with your lists that you may not have thought of, without totally beraking the bank. Example: Just starting? Played your first few games, and now know that you want to put the money in? Here's how you do it: Pick the points level you want to start at. 500, 1000, 1500, whatever. For your 1000 point army, you're going to buy 1250 points in models, so you can change it up a bit. Looking to take that 1000 point army to 1500 points? Then you're going to get yourself 750 points worth of models. Suddenly, not only are you able to craft a list that's not so restrictive at 1500 points, but you've got a nice set of options for the odd 1750 or 2000 point game you might be looking to play.


Of course, that's just my take on it.

OP: Post your 1500 point army list. Ignore advice until then.

Kannons and another Warbiker squad maybe? Or lootas, but it's tough that you can't get two units of them for 250 pts without having them be REALLY small and vulnerable.

Honestly, are you trying to go for a competitive list? If so, you'd be well served to delete your list and start over. 12 boyz with a powerklaw can be delivered to the front in the same amount of time as warbikers with better protection for the cost of 4 bikers with no powerklaw. Wazdakka is expensive to the point of uselessness for his point cost. I realize you are going with a themed list, so I won't go any further criticizing the troop selection, but you could copy and paste a better list off the forums that is considerably more competitive than that with relative ease.

I'd probably add more warbikes, since that's your theme. Another unit and/or increasing the size of the other units.

Another option, but I don't think they are overall that great, are warbuggies with rokkits. Deffkoptas do basically the same thing but overall better.

If you want to think outside the theme a little, maybe consider a unit of kommandos + snikrot to force enemies away from the table edges or risk the rear armor and/or burna attack. For 265 pts, you can have a full unit of kommandos with 2 burnas and Snikrot.

If all you have in there is 9 nob bikers (even if split over 2 units) you don't have a valid army. You need another troops choice in there in order to make it 1HQ 2Troops. May I suggest ditching Wazdakka and taking another warboss to make 2 nob biker units troops if your going KoS

I've got a games under my belt w/ this list.

I know that it's by far not ver competitive, I how do like the way this list plays.suits my style of play well.

I've tried 30 strong mob of shootas w/ a pk nob.

Drew a lot of fire but didn't do much.

Considered trying out lootas or unit of kommandos w/ snikrot.

Btw I meant to post a bump of 250 on top of 1750, not 1500 as I posted originally.

wazdakka allows warbikers to be taken as troops , boss allows nobs to troops.

3 troop choices .

-2 Warbikers
-1 Deffkopta
-1 Deffkopta
+1 Buzzsaw

+10 Grots w Runtherd

+ 30 Lootas split among two units.

I think trukk boyz would be a good idea here.

fielding kommando's is very possible. i can shave some points, 265 to be exact.a bonus is i've got 10 painted up, 2 of which have burnas.

a full unit of 15, 2 w/ burnas led by snikrot held in reserve.

ambush from any board edge , pop waaagh! than charge.

this option could take some of the heat away from the rest of my army & allow me to close the gap.
