There's regularly posts about people liking certain music or trying new music, so I figured I'd make it a bit more fun and sociable.
Basically, I'm thinking that you post your favourite song (or similar) and the link/video or whatever if you're kind. Then the next person listens to this aforementioned song (or track!) and POLITELY says what they think and then post their favourite song for the next person.

So, my favourite song is Some Riot by Elbow. I utterly love this band and this is quite possibly the most beautiful song I've heard:

(Then the next person says what they thought of it, then posts their song for the next person to try).

Hope this works, have fun guys!

I believe this song stands for my submission and my comment on the OP's submission. Sorry, I have a severe mental allergy to "beautiful music".

Really loving Ayreon's music. Only band that I would consider buying every CD released for the sheer epicness of the finales. This song (The Sixth Extinction) is the finale from Ayreon's last rock opera, "01011001".

Oh, and the introduction to Arjen Anthony Lucassen's latest project, Guilt Machine, which is also suitably epic.

People have just started posting their favourite tracks/song (and lots of them), rather than commenting on others too, its a give and take relationship guys! please follow the intention of the thread

Anshal wrote:To Just Dave:

aaah! good to see someone liked it and that someone else actually listens to Elbow

And yeah, I expected that a lot of 'metal' (which I cant stand) would turn up...

@Locclo, it was quite good I though, nice mix of 2 genre's, I wouldnt buy it myself but I certainly wouldnt object to listening to it!

My next song as one of my fav's:

Good stuff as usual, FITTZ! Your taste in music is so immaculate it's almost annoying!

@Lord-Loss - Kudos, awesome song. One of my favourites, in fact.

@Just Dave - I like Elbow too, mate. They live round the corner from me!

As for my choice, I'm going with a song that is currently on 'heavy rotation'.

This woman's voice wrenches my guts out:

Thank you, thank you...it's taken years of imersing myself into music to reach that level of annoying... .

I'm not that familar with Edith Piaf,IIRC one of her songs is playing in the background near the end of Saving private Ryan, but yes,she has an amazing voice, beautiful and sad at the same time...I'll definatley be looking for more.

Ah, another thread where someone askes people to pick one thing and showing thier reading skills go on to post lots of that item instead.

Horse With No Name is a fantastic song with some great imagery and construction. It is an example of esoteric lyrics that don't mean anything specific but it feels like it does. It expresses something in words that can't be expressed with words.

While I could post a bunch of songs I'll try to stay with the spirit of the thread and just post one.

What great choices so far (well except some of the metal it was a bit generic)

@ Albatross, You win my choice for classiest selection! If I ever travel across the pond I will buy you a drink for posting that gem!

Here are my top picks from a variety of genres:

Minnie the Moocher, by Cab Calloway

Zina Marina, by Golgol Bordello
I love this song, its such an upbeat party song but when you listen to the lyrics you realize its incredibly sad since its about human trafficking in his native Ukraine.

I really like celtic rock too, but most of the bands I listen to are local, hence there're are only live tracks available, so here is one of the best quality songs songs I could find. (not my favorite of there songs but good none the less, this one is about a friend of theirs that got stabbed to death outside a bar he was playing at.)

The Death of Johnny Mooring, by Enter the Haggis

Cold December, Matt Costa

I don't really have a favorite song, just a bunch of songs that I like. Also it would probably almost be as long as the list of bands that I posted in the other music thread a while ago. So I'll just chose a bunch of random ones

Shuffle brings up these first ones:
Susumu Hirasawa - Forces

Unfortunately Youtube only has the 2 minute version of the actual music video (it's weird and makes no sense anyway, he's in some glowing tube thing the entire time, good for stoners I guess), this or AMVs >_>
Funny thing is that in this version the music is better but in the "God Hand" version, as he calls it, the singing is better.

L'Arc~en~Ciel - Stay away

See-Saw - Tasogare no Umi

Art VS Science - Parlez-Vous Francais?

Fripside - Flower of Bravery

Metallica - For Whom the Bell Tolls

I think that's enough for now.

EDIT" Re-read the first post and realised I was supposed to put only one song
