I have enough points in my list to either have 16 grots or 4 big guns.

What should i go for?(footslogging list)

16 grots is 58 points and if i take out 6 ork boyz ( making squads 25,25,30) i will have 94 points to use on kannons

They would be my only far ranged shooting unit.

So are big guns more valuable than 16 grots?

Well to consider is the fact that 3 big gunz is max squad size, although 2 lots of 2 could be done, you'll lose the extra grots.

Yes thats what i meant to do two squads of two, one with 3 ammo grunts, the other with 2.

Only chose the gunz if you're willing to sit someone beside them that can take a hot for your gunz if you get deepstriked/outflanked. A Caladus in your gunline aint fun ><

Neither. Take more boys instead.

Big guns arent worth spending any points on. They are too vulnerable to shooting and do so little, even for their cheap points.

Grots are only useful if you need a cheap meatshield for a mek with a SAG to hide in or as a rear objective holder that has permenatly gtg, otherwise they're also not very useful.

More boys are always good, especially in a foot-slogging list.

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?

It seems from his post though that his choice is between gunz and grots though. So perhaps we can help him with that choice instead of adding in our own options, hmmm?

adding more boyz would only use up 60 of my 95 available points and its not enough to start a new squad either. With big guns or grotz i am able to add long ranged fire power (which i don't have) or fodder units for my boyz to further protect them.

I'd be sticking with the gunz and spreading them apart a little to cover the board and prolong the likelihood of losing them same turn.
