I want to make some custom conversions for various ork projects (tankbustas, rokkit launchas on battlewagons, etc.) and looking for a good source of bits for the rockets/missiles so that I don't have to scratch build them all. They don't have to be GW or FW stuff, anything roughly 40K scale will work. Any links to cool bits sites or 3rd party mini sources that could provide this or really any military/sci fi weapons, crates, etc. would be fantastic. Thanks in advance.

try Dragon model modern day missiles and bomb sets, I know you can use the Cluster bombs from that set into rocket boy rocket packs , the other missiles might be a little big but, that what you get... Orkie conversions right??

Having just made my own tank bustas....

1. Killa-kans come with a twin rokkit-launcha. I cut them apart and used the rokkits on the end of guns.

2. Boyz sprues come with a rokkit launcha or two. Use those. You can shave them down and stick them on a pole to make a tank-hammer.

3. Deffkoptas have 4 rokkits each on the front. You can cut them down to size.

4. Gretchin rokkit paks look like rokkits - I used one of those.

5. Fantasy mace heads - I cut the end off the mace handle, glued it to a gun and voila - a rokkit pistol.

These are a couple of the home-made ones.

Love the pink tank-bustas, but I'm staring at the monitor and trying to add a wash to them via willpower. Maybe the photo is just washing them out a bit.

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

Observations on complex unit wound allocation: If you're feeling screwed, your opponent is probably doing it right.

I found some interesting stuff from searching for the Dragon model lines, some WW2 era bombs and rockets that will work. I know 40K is supposedly "28mm (heroic) scale," which translates to about 1/62 scale. Does anyone know if 1/72 scale is too small or 1/48 too big? These are orks, so I imagine 1/48 is the way to go, but if anyone has any experience using model kits, let me know.

Thanks for all the replies.
