Subject: Deff Dread Question

So I was wondering if I have the whole killa kan and deff dread thing down right.
Are they not supposed to need a mad dok and a big mek to make these things. Once an ork or a grot is placed in there they aint comin out.
Do I have that right? I have an idea for a dread and was wondering if I was reading that right.

If im not mistaken ,
Deff Dread is piloted by Ork mek.
Only killakan are hard wired , with grot permanently.

It's not like anything Ork related is standardized.

The book says grots go in Kans, but I put orks in them. You could even model a squig in there as long as the stat line stays the same.

You are mistaken, it is generally a regular ork. However, when it comes to Orks, have it your own way if you want it to be a Mek in there.

Yeah apparently deffdreds have an ork wired into them, kanz have a grot (which is why they are BS3) both procedures are performed by mek+mad dok, however some of the older fluff says that they don't have to be wired in, and can simply be using a huge array of dials, knobs, buttons, joysticks etc.

Kanz tend to have grotz permanently hardwired into them, and the grotz tend to enjoy this immensely. Dreads tend to have an ork hardwired in who is very annoyed at needing to eat through a straw for the rest of their lives, but with enough grotz you can have a dread and justify the bs2 by saying they argue and ws4 with a mad dok brain transplant, or a crippled ork in a kan and justify the bs3 and ws2 by saying he doesn't have arms and basically kicks things. Actually the brain transplant excuse should placate fluff nazis for both.

cool. Thanks for the info folks.
It seems I was correct in my thinking.
I shall go ahead with my idea and see how it goes. Automatically Appended Next Post: Gonna throw my idea out there and see what yall think.
I am gonna make a Dread loosely based on a Penitent engine. Or maybe blatantly on the penitent engine.
My idea is to have me a poor mutilated ork on the front with cables and hoses coming out were his arms and legs should be.
Ork really should not get injured while my mad dok is around.
I am also planning on using some GS for the first time on this one. Never used it but I feel its time to give it a go.
