Nasty list. That's going to hurt like taking a cheese-grater to your b&$%s. Although I wonder how much use those killcannons will get.

PROSECUTOR: By now, there have been 34 casualties.

Elena Ceausescu says: Look, and that they are calling genocide.

I figure their use is in being a fire magnet, any shooting at non nob wagons is good shooting IMO.

Got your message asking for input:

1. You can definitely find a better use for points than killakannons. Those will be the first target for weapon destroyed; I think you should tack on 4 rokkits for each.

Short of that, I'm bowing out of advising on ork lists since my own theories and tactics have come up short lately against heavily mechanized lists making them not a "take all comers" list.

Inside a pretty, pretty pain cave... won't you come inside?

I haven't found much luck with killkannons either. Honestly, dropping the a couple 5-pt kombi skorchas over the side will cause as many casualties to hordes. Building the burna boy unit does the same thing and you could get multiple shots.

I would second the rokkit launcha additions throughout. Ranged anti-tank is probably mandatory and the more shots the better.

Uh, also; a wagon with a killkannon has a transport capacity of only 12, meaning those 20-strong Boyz mobs you've got won't fit in them. You need to drop the killkannons.

2 kombi-rokkits and 3 kombi-skorchas is kind of a schizophrenic mix for the MANZ. I'd say pick one or the other, not both. 2 kombi-rokkits is not enough to give you decent odds of doing anything.

My advice is to use the points you save from the killkannons to get some Fast Attack in there. My recommendation would be 4 rokkit Wartraks. You can run interference with them, zoom around to take rear armor shots at vehicles, or even use them to put wounds on any ICs or MCs running around.

Berzerker, for wound allocation purposes it's preferable to have at least 2 different kombi-weapons in the group, as well as at least one vanilla Meganob.

To overcome the restriction on dedicated transports and Killkannons, I guess what you could do is stick the MANz in the KillKannon wagons and put the Boyz in the MANz dedicated wagons.

It does mean you have to start the boyz outside the wagon, but it should still be pretty hard for the enemy to actually hit them since well, there's a wall of battlewagons in their way, even if you go 2nd. If you don't want to invest in additional ranged anti-tank, maybe it'd be worth considering Wreckin' Balls? Having to drive right next to melta-vehicles sounds kinda tough tho.

Glad you finally got enlightened.

i find battlewagons work best when driving right into the foe, and smashing them. when ive tried to go shooty with them, they just get outgunned. therefore, ive gotten into habit of grabbin claws, wrecker balls deff rollas, plates and riggers. for weapons, just big shootas, or maybe rokkits. and maybe a 'ard case if your transporting anything. due to the cost however multiple copys of that load out are hard to fit, so i usually only run 1 with the deffrolla, and give rams to the rest. a nasty trick ive used is putting a model from each squad in transport actually aboard the vehivle they use (i also use color coded bases). loading plain boyz into the deff rolla BW, and my WB with nobs in another plainer one, or even just a trukk. most enemy anti tank will go into the deff rolla, becuase it looks more threating and more likley to hold your boss. if the other player forgets to ask, or isint paying 100% attention you may be able to surprise him with a sneaky warboss assault were hes not expecting. orky taktiks ftw!

Never used battle wagons before, but Ive played with them.

Really nice lookin list tho! The only thing about the killkannon is that with the looted wagon you get the boom gun which is just much more fun! (Bigga boom ya see). lool

If you want to take the kill kannons tho, you could stick the meganobs in those cuz theyd fit, and have the boys in the others, but then theres the whole thing of trying to get the nobs up to the front asap, and doing that with a killkannon on board is pointless.

Id, take the rokkits on the 1st 3, but put the boys in them, then take trukks for the nobs, freeing up points for more effective heavy support or alternative units.

There is something particularly nasty about having 6 tanks on board tho!

p.s. Every time I see Dashofpepper's pic it makes me laugh my head off! lol. Just makes you think that the cat has snapped into action and rushed to the pc as if its a spy responding to a really important government crisis. 'Got your message, what are your orders'. lol

Full on, Full on!

I am dropping the Killakans for Rokkits, I really would like to take a couple Deffrollas but I am not sure how most tourneys rule there use on vehicles. As per raw it seems you cant ram with them.

You'll definitely want to drop the Killkannons as your Boyz won't fit in those Battlewagons.

Check with the tourney organizer prior to the event regarding Deff Rollas. Either way, I'd expect to see a few Bug armies at the Ard Boyz and Deff Rollas still have their uses.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

deffrollas have the following rules:

page 55: ork codex. (paraphrazed)

rerolls dangerous terrain tests, and any unit tank shocked by a battlwagon with a deff rolla takes d6 str 10 hits. if they elect to stand and shoot, (death or glory) the unit takes an additonal d6 hits, in addition to the normal effects.

it has no special bonus or penalty to ramming, therefore you CAN ram with it, doing so as an armor 14 tank. (speed +5 )

How does order of operations go for the death or glory?

Do they take the wounds before the shot or after?

Over all it seems you have two section to your list and the back half of the section is lacking. I just think your going to find yourself hard pressed to take objectives. On top of that once you do find hth, if they can take you punch. They are going to return fire removing anything that found there lines.

Ghazghkull Thraka

You think this guy will do the trick, I know he has a lot to offer but you might be able to trade him out and use the xtra points...Just an options to think about...

You don't think 4 troops in Av 14 can hold an objective? The Mek will go with the troop meganobz and keep their transport alive, and if it does they can just jump in a spare.
