I keep having these ideas I can't get out of my head : one of them is that I use a howling banshee body to make Shadowsun look more feminine, does anybody think it would work at all?



The other thing I'm stuck on is the best 600 point Tau list for my schools league...I've got a thread in the army list board and would like any help.

Does anyone else get think stuck in their heads that they just can't shift ?

The howling banshee might work, but I think it kinda undermines the aesthetic of the tau army as a whole. That said, You would need to do a headswap, and just leave the arms off. Since the banshee models are metal you'd be in for a ton of work. Don't know the shadowsun model too well since I don't play tau, but my guess is that shadowsun arms on a banshee torso won't quite mesh. My guess is that you would have a banshee, remove the sword, pistol, runes, head, and feet. Then swap in the appropriate shadowsun parts. Hmm, the more I think about it the more I like it.

Sadly, can't help you on a 600 point tau list. I'll ask my roommate, he plays Tau.

As far as getting ideas stuck in my head... well I get songs stuck in my head, vocab words, even phrases sometimes. But I think you mean ideas along the modeling perspective. I've wanted to make a rhino universally adaptable... it could become anything based on the rhino chassis. (rhino, razorback, predator, vindicator, immolator, exorcist) It would be more work than it is worth, but pretty cool I think.

But Shadowsun has a newer form of the battlesuit and the banshee just has mesh armor. I don't think it would be a very good "count as" because she wouldn't be wearing the armor.

I think the point of the tau is they don't try to look sexy, it just happens. She'd probably be more inclined to an armour save than looking fabulous in battle. Not to mention the armour she already has is pretty beautiful.
However, do what you want. I don't think the body would be quite big enough, but go for it.

I thought part of the Tau fluff was supposed to be that the male and female of the species were indistingushable to most other species in the galaxy. Somehow, I would not call `look for the one with the mammaries' being too difficult. I would suggest a Banshee's body would be completely out of place in a Tau army.

I don't recall anything in Tau fluff which particularly suggested that, though it is a logical idea.

Xeonology had a Tau female ethereal in it so would be worth a look.

There isn't much fluff around for Tau.

Xenology says that Tau and human anatomy are very similar. The book Firewarrior makes clear distinctions between male and female tau. As we are talking about a universe where SM commanders wear no helmets and tanks have one foot calibre guns, making babe Tau females is alright

From an alien viewpoint though, why would you assume that human (or Tau) men and women could be distinguished by their hair or bumps on their torso.

Why not skin colour? It works for a lot of birds.

Too bad shadowsun's rules suck. You can make an awesome model for her but she'll still die on turn 1 or 2 in the game. :-)

Are Tau even mammals? Might not biologically have breasts.

Other primates have flat breasts compared to human females.

The point is that Tau could have fatty pads on its torso which were independent of any reproductive function and looked like breasts, but Tau would still be reptiles or something.

If that is what players want.

...does anyone remember Tanya from the C&C games? The chick working for the Alliance, running around with akimbo pistols, blowing up stuff with C4 charges? In Red Alert 2 the actress was rather sexy.

Is that a Marbo count-as or what? If I could sculpt, I'd actually try this.

RA2 Tanya > RA3 Tanya

My best guess would be to look around for those minis that are Tomb Raider knockoffs, then do a headswap. I'll look it up later tonight.
