Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

Hey folks!

A friend of mine was playing 40k with me the other day and he had a blue measuring device with a 2" side, a 4" side and a 6" side. I don't know what it was or is called, but he said Galeforce 9 makes it; I couldn't find it on their website. Anyone able to clue me in? The whole 2" coherency and 6" quick move is genius.

Quick Google search brought this up as the nearest link for a U.S. store selling it online. I've heard that the GF9 stock is always sold out.

/not a plug for warstore, have never been there before.

Its the same design we use in FOW, but on the FOW its give you rules and distance measurement for all types of units...
Its a funny shaped tool( which i love) great for 6 in charge, two spacing, and a arc firing ...

Oh, looks like a snazzy lil thing. I might pick one or two up myself. Would speed up moving my orks across the table... (we always seem to misplace our measuring tape)

Just as well Maelstrom stocks it.

Greatest thing in the world for cutting down on those pesky arguements that can crop up on important charges. Ask your opponent to use it for any important moves that could lead to assault and see a huge change in the tenseness that situation can sometimes lead to.

Exactly. There was a guy at our FLGS that routinely "mishandled" his measuring tape to try to get 7"+ assaults. This sucker ended those arguments immediately and the guy never came back.

I remember the first time I brought mine to the table. I had just spent a bunch of time working on my Burna Mob and I expected to get some oohs and aaahhhs from my friends (a good many folks here blow my painting skills away, but I'm about the best painter in my little group).

At any rate though, what steals all my Burna's glory?

I was getting it primarily because of how easy it suddenly seems to do 2" coherency. Moves have never been a problem. I extend my tape measure to the appropriate amount, lay it down ON the table with the end touching the front of my model/vehicle, then move the model/vehicle up to the appropriate mark, set it down next to or on top of the tape measure, then remove the tape measure.

Nifty idea for my opponents though; asking them to use it. Nothing pisses me off more than people who measure center of their model to center of where its going instead of front to front....or they hold the tape measure in the air while they are measuring, and end up leaning forward to put their model down and gain inches....whether by mistake or not...

Yep, it's great. 2" side for coherency, 4" side for vehicle squadron coherency, 6" side for regular moves. I've got two of them, a standard blue one and a red one made for the Mechanicon. Thinking of getting a batch made with our club logo on them.

I've been using one for the last couple of years (and a couple of other guys I know also use them). I've used it at a tourney (asking my opponent if it was ok - and letting them check it against their tape if necessary) as it speeds up short moves and coherency moves no end.

Mine is the grey FoW one, but the other guys I know use the blue ones.

I've been playing 40k too much. Every time I see "tactical" I immediately think , "CREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED"
