Help me Dakka!!
Since the release of the new nid codex I want to take off my venom cannon from my carnifex. So my question is, how do I remove plastic glue from models? I really don't want to say that the venom cannon is a set of sything talons or buy a new carni.
Any help?

Unfortunately plastic glue melts the plastic so you'd actually have to break the plastic. Depending on the joint this could be rather easy or terribly hard.

Nothing currently, got out of the hobby, maybe getting back in? |

Put the model in the freezer. It should separate a bit easier then. This works better for super glue than plastic bonds, but anything that makes the bond more brittle can help the parts come apart.
If it doesn't break apart easily after that, you can try to use a plastic solvent cement (the wattery stuff that goes on with a brush) to lossen the joint. Don't apply too much, or the solvent will just run over the model and mar the surface.
Whatever happens, after you separate the parts, you will still likely end up having to sand/file away excess melted plastic/glue and smothing the surfaces.

Eilif is right. I did the same thing to one of my fexes, I had to just break the arms off then use clippers and scalpels to remove what was left.

Marschall just means that you should make sure you use a new blade, older more dull blades require more pressure to achieve the same cut. As a result you have less control over the knife which obviously results in a lot more cut fingers, trust me I was a chef for almost ten years lol.

I just used my pocket knife the other day to separate a shield from the arm of my crisis suit (pain in the *butt* since it has a bunch of connecting points). As said before, simply cut the piece off. My knife is sharper but an exact-o works fine.

If it was Superglue or GW glue i would say get some astone( fingernailpolish remover) and use a Q tip and swap by the joint for a few minutes then again, for a few more minutes.... It will work it way in to turn the glue into a rubber compound... then you can pull it apart and pull off the glue.
Best bet withplastic cement( testors) is to cut the arm were the joint is flush, then you can pin it with the new arm.
