Ok, so I couldn't resist. The Wereshark mini from Reaper makes no sense to anyone, but is a great looking mini. So I had to get one, and paint him up.

Let me know what you think. Or if you'd prefer, here is his Coolminiornot page so you can let them know what you think.

He's great, but I am surprised you didn't go with a tigershark patterning on the body to break up the massive area of grey...

Misery. Missouri. Who can tell the difference.

I don't know. If I saw that coming at me on land I think I would myself. There would not be enough bullets in the world to make sure that thing is dead.

Great job. I love it. I might have to track one of these minis down myself.

I dunno, you could probably work that into a Chaos Daemon army easily enough. Cool!

WERESHARK! I dunno, that seems to me a lot like a mini that could represent a Lunar in Exalted.

"From the fires of Betrayal unto the blood of revenge we bring the name of Lorgar, the Bearer of the Word, the favored Son of Chaos, all praise be given to him. From those that would not heed we offer praise to those who do, that they might turn their gaze our way and gift us with the Boon of Pain, to turn the Galaxy red with the blood, and feed the hunger of the Gods."

So, why doesn't the wereshark just flop around and die after transforming? I mean he's not in the water after all.

Or he's a fictional magical creature...

I love him. It is an absolutely ridiculous mini, so I never considered trying to paint him, but you've made it look great. The pink tips are a nice contrast to the grey. But now the comment about him needing some Nyquil is ringing true to me. The pink/red is perfect everywhere else.

Well...this is an intersting model and a great painting job, but the first thing that came to my mind was: "those guys from Reaper have a serious drug problem, they're making minis inspired from Hallmark Entertainement productions!!!"

There was a wereshark movie based off a Peter Benchley book or story back in the early 90s, I believe ("Creature". It was a nazi human/shark hybrid creation).

They were also in the old WW rpg, Werewolf (before it got all forsaken). Rokea. Weresharks. Different 'breeds' based off different shark breeds. Hammerheads, Tigers, Great Whites, etc.

Nice model. Shame no game exists to use it.

Oh, that's right. Old World of Darkness was totally out of control. I mean, you couldn't find a dude that wasn't supernatural anywhere.

But that sounds like they gave you enough to do a whole Wereshark campaign. That's crazy jawesome.

Now I just need to find that supplement, and four other wereshark minis...

It's the Werewolf: The apocalypse player's guide. I have my copy because I used to run a WoD campaign (with 3 vamps, a doggie and a ghost).

Has the other were-creatures covered as well (so you had were-bears, sharks, coyote, spiders (very goth), rats, etc).
Sharks are very sensitive to pollution in their environment (some sharks, like Bull sharks, especially so).
All had their own variants on the gifts and variant shift-forms.

Hm... were they meant as antagonists? Because it sounds a lot like the mini games that White Wolf used to put out.

They had them for mummies, specters, demons and a host of other things.

Cool. I'll take a look.

They could be antagonists, but they were also other aspects of the weaver.

They were all antagonists of the wyrm, and could come to blows with Gaia's chosen (hrmph!) butt-sniffers.

Interesting.

I have the new Werewolf book, and it seems like the flavor of the game has changed quite a bit.

Strangely enough, I haven't really checked out any of the NWoD stuff for the games that I knew much about.

The NWoD lacks a certain something.

Yes, it is slightly less pretentious in some ways, but it lacks the flavour and intensity as well. All of the people I know who play NWoD prefer the original.

Original WW had you as environmental crusaders, helping to save your dying mother (Gaia). The message was hardly subtle (something not many Americans - that I have met - can manage imho).

NWoD stuff is often more subtle about things. Really, I think what they were looking at was a world clearly overrun by the supernatural, and decided to reign them in enough that we can still believe that they're all well kept secrets.

New Changling is basically all about abuse victimhood, for example, rather than really being the monster. A lot of NWoD does that sort of thing.

Although my favorite WoD game ever was a NWoD game where our role playing group made ourselves as characters- and made our hometown overrun by zombies.

Most of us made it through the zombie apocalypse.
