Just a theroy....Dark Angels are shown multiple times in the new White Dwarf. Could this be a sign that they are coming soon???

No.

EDIT: As in, there could be other reasons, but that's not usually a good one.

the mods will tell you anyways and probably do the deed for you but you may want to save them the trouble and put a question mark at the end of the subject.

Thank goodness. I was about to get scared about ANOTHER 5th edition Marine codex. We're all good.

Where was this stated at?

The biggest question mark around is their fortress being released. How GW makes release decisions (beyond all SM all the time) is really beyond me.

I dunno. There's a few quick-fixes that could be done for the Codex, much like the Tau Empire 'dex.

Package the codex release with a re-release of the Dark Angels Battleforce--and fwabam. 'New' Dark Angels release!

@Kanluwen: Will there be time for another SM dex this year with the new Inq book(s) coming out???

lol, the current tau codex is a "quick fix" for the original one. i think a lot of tau players would have preferred waiting for another few years and getting a real rewrite instead of 90% the same/worse and 10% new/bad.

I guess it depends on what SM codex they'd do.

Like I said, there's a few small re-writes and sprue alterations they can do. Putting DA Company Veterans in line with Sternguard, Deathwing Terminators getting the 'standard' Terminator squad sizes, things like that.
Model-wise? Slap some DA iconography on the standard Terminator models, include some robes/tabards for the Terminators and sell it as a 'Deathwing Terminator Squad'.

Minor things like that are why I'd say if they do a smaller codex, Dark Angels would be perfect to bring up to speed. Very little model work, very little Codex alterations, etc.

That's kind of the point there, bud.

Tau players got a Codex that brought them 'up to speed'. It added what GW thought was lacking(a counter assault unit) in the form of Vespids, it added alot of new models, etc.

That the Tau players didn't like it is a different story entirely.

I was being kind of sarcastic about the Inq book . . .

Anyway, along the lines you're talking about: SW proved that this kind of release is full scale. BA will probably show the same. I know that SW hadn't had a book for years and BA had a PDF but I don't see today's GW bothering with anything short of the usual fanfare.

No more SM books for this year, they've gotten too much. How about factions that need it like, you know, Necrons.

I think it's also beyond them.

Or maybe, if you've seen the episode, it's like on South Park when they decided what to do with the economy by cutting a chicken's head off and letting it run around on a board of decisions until it died, and wherever it died that was the decision they'd make. Difference is on GW's one, two out of every three results is "Marines", and they cut the heads of tournament gamers, not chickens.

Oh! So that's what they're for. I thought they were just around to take up shelf-space.
