I've never seen or heard of any girls or women playing 40k other than 1 or 2 pre teens who won some GTs... Is this a predominantly male only game? Or are there more than just a few girls/women who play 40k?

Idk, there may be some girls who play, Ive seen a view around the wargamming tables at my 40k hangout, but im usaully focused on my own games. They may be Gfs to the guys who do play. But this is my small corner of the world, it may be different else where.

Almost all wargaming is male dominated. Which isn't to say there aren't female 40k players, my wife is one, and when they get old enough I wouldn't be surprised if my daughters play too. But males make up the vast majority of war gamers.

Word of warning, this thread could well get very heated very quickly. It's also been done many times before, just use the search function if you want to see the furious arguments back and forth.

Long story short: yes, there are females that play (I'm one of them). Yes, the number and proportion varies by area. Yes, there are more males than females playing.

I think that covers all relevant statements.

I know a girl who only paints (Lizardmen), but her dad, being a gamer from the pre-RT era, wants to get her into the actual game.

40K is basicly a game for death metal fans. You don't get too many girls in that genre.

Why yes offcourse there are girl gamers who play 40k. But they have all been given new identities after they got harrassed by mobs of smelly nerd's

Nowadays they tend to play dark eldar and often carry a whip to keep the mobs in check. You would be surprised how fast a nerdrage calms down after a good whipping.

Sometimes, but it's rare.

It's generally male oriented, but if you could get enough women to play, I'm sure you'd see more of 'em. Problem is that they get real lonely, as their only companions are usually smelly ilk like us.
