hallo all

I wanted to field a warboss in mega armour, because in 1500 pts he does the same as thrakka for 95 points less (except for the WAAAGH!, but that has almost no effect in so few points). But now im not not sure how to make him, i was thinking about taking a gazghkull, changing his head to the one from the aobr warboss's one. but how should i change his big shoota with a TL shoota? Because if i take a shoota and glue some bits on it it wont really look like a mega armour tl shoota. Or could i say the one that normally comes with thrakka is a tl shoota? cause it looks more like that than a big shoota and could i give him a kombi shoota/skorcha if he has a mega armour? i'm guessing not but it never hurts to ask

Personally my opinion is if you are going to take a mega armour boss you should anyways take ghazzy instead but if you insist on running mega armour just buy ghazzy and use the model as a mega armoured boss (or ghazzy if you feel like it), as long as its clear in your list and clearly explained it should be fine.

I've seen some awesome conversions based off this Inquisitor model. http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/common/xLargeProductImage.jsp?mWidth=873px&mURL=/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m1184312_99111399033_INQKriegerMain_873x627.jpg&mAlt=Inquisitor%3A+Krieger+'Krash'+Thrax&mHeight=627px

Make what you want, but I wanted to correct your thoughts about Ghazghkull's Waaaugh! not having any effect in 1500 points.

Having a 2+ invulnerable save on a T5 EW close combat monster is invaluable. Your mega-armored warboss will fold to a single hit from a thunderhammer as easily as anything else in your mob, and terminators are *NOT* uncommon in 1500 points. Making your entire army fearless works at every point level. And getting into close combat on turn2 because you have a free 6" fleet movement is also invaluable.

*shrugs* Your call though.

I'm with Dash on this one. 95 points for an auto 6" and a 2+ invulnerable is actually a fantastic bargain for my army most of the time.
And that's an army that is usually running 2 trukkboy mobs, an ardboy mob in a trukk + a small megamob as Ghazy bullet shields.
the 6" is usually the little bit extra that gets me into position for a solid multicharge as opposed to an almost there single charge that is going to leave my spores in the wind the following turn

Without this the Mega's go from being a great unit to occasionally tripping over themselves on a key charge. Megas that miss the charge generally don;t survive the experience
