i was reading the description of The Sanguinor, Exemplar of the Host. it says:"The Sanguinor is a golden angel of vengeance who descends from the heavens only in times of the Blood Angels' greatest need. " it mentions about heaven. but the word "heaven" sound weird in 40K universe. so now the grim dark future has the shiny wingy angel from heaven. do you guy feel they mix up well?

please forgive my spelling, i am still learning English.

The heavens is just a general term to mean the sky.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

In Elysian culture, they are buried with two gold coins over their eyes as a light to guide them to the Emperor.

Most Imperial Guard believe that in death they go to the Emperor's side, though not as odd as the Elysians.

The Space Marines almost all unanimously agree that when they die, they go to fight by the Emperor's side.

"From the fires of Betrayal unto the blood of revenge we bring the name of Lorgar, the Bearer of the Word, the favored Son of Chaos, all praise be given to him. From those that would not heed we offer praise to those who do, that they might turn their gaze our way and gift us with the Boon of Pain, to turn the Galaxy red with the blood, and feed the hunger of the Gods."

In reality though they go to the warp and their souls are food for daemons.

How's that for grimdark?

Not completely true. It's for sure that when anything affiliated or touched by chaos makes a kill, it does indeed go to the warp. However, for all the fluff there is on it, the Emperor could be gathering worthy souls to fight a battle. This is also going off of the idea that he died to become a god, but meh.

Regarding the terms "Emperor" and "souls", I think the phrase "Om-nom-nom-nom-nom" sums it up best.
