So I was wondering, does anyone else's units seem to have personalities?
What I mean is, my unit of Possessed CSM always get slaughtered down to one man in every game I play, but he always ends up paying for his entire unite 2x over. Anyone else experiance anything like this?

Back when I played SM, I ran 2 units of Terminators. One DS'ed in turn 1 without fail, the other DS'ed in last turn without fail, but never ended the game in reserve.
Friend had a Necron Lord with who loved failing easy saves, but never rolled anything but a 6 on WBB. No joke. I played 10 or so games against that army over the course of a summer, killed him a dozen times, never with a power weapon, and he came back every damn time.

I run a terminator chaplain with my termie squad, and he always takes 1 wound before anything, and then his re rolls for the squad in close combat ends up killing a whole squad exept for one guy.

Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I Die, You are forgiven. If I Live, I will kill you." Such is the Rule of Honor.

I'm sure there are some personalities in my army, though I don't seem to notice them until they do *what they do* and then I re-remember that's their style.

Every single time I try to deep strike my Commander, he ALWAYS ends up right on top of a Transport.
Always....
Clumsy git.
It happened 5 times in a row. I stopped doing it for like...4 games. Then the next game, I say "hey, lets deep strike!" Right on top of a Chimera....

My nobz mob leaders are famously incompetent with hitting anything with their powerklaws. Like 1-for-12 in a game is typical. Luckily, my shoota boyz are notoriously way more accurate than any BS2 units should be allowed to be. Routinely over 50% hits. This hasn't wholly contributed to my opinion that shoota boyz are WAAAAAY better than slugga boyz, but it doesn't hurt, either.

The gunner in my Hammerhead is asbolutely the worst shot I've ever seen in a game. Any time he shoots the solid shot he misses. The only time he ever hits he alway rolls low against the vehicle armour. He has never successfully killed a tank. Conversely any time he uses his submunition he doesn't scatter.

My meltagun Grey Hunters can never hit together. Never. If one hits, the other will miss, guaranteed. I fire four shots, two will hit.
Oh, and I actually have a personality for one of the players at the FLGS. His Zoanthropes are almost guaranteed to never do significant damage to a vehicle. Throughout the course of several games, his Zoas managed to roll a dozen hits (From three models, mind you) almost all of the penetrate, and then the following rolls for vehicle damage:
1, 1, 2, 2, 1, 3. (3 on the last turn, if he's lucky) It seems that his Zoas do a great job of punching through armor...but they can never aim at the direct center of the darn things. He actually has better luck with S8 AP3 missile launchers from the Long Fangs in his Wolves army.

Does your friend have a 'special' dice to go with his 'special' guy? Automatically Appended Next Post: Not so much in 40k, yet, but in WHFB I had a Dark Elf bolt thrower crew with an awesome party trick.
Turn 1: Their bolt thrower gets destroyed by cannon fire.
Turn 2: They get running.
Turn 3: They run some more.
Turn 4: Run run, little men!
Turn 5: They kick the out of the cannon crew that shot up their toy.
Three times!
