Subject: 100% New in box original metal thunderhawk blog ..... /w stompa pics
Figured for something this epic i had to do a photoblog while im putting this thing together, i was about 75% through my first stompa when i see this beast tonight and have to stop everything and put this seemingly 25 pound monstrosity together ...
Just moved up to dc area with my roommate, and he had always said he had a thunderhawk from way back when. I just figured it was like half put together or missing parts or something.... because he woulda been like 12 when he got it back in 96~, but he never even touched anything inside it except to remove the mechanicus seal from the envelope with the certificate, which is why it has that tear on it =/.
Gonna spend tonight cleaning allthe flash and mold lines .... think ima need to use a dremmel .... this whole thing is metal

You're gonna need a dremel and a large flat file (and possibly a large round one). Do yourself a favor and use two-part epoxy instead of superglue. You'll be better off in the long run.
My old LFGS got one of these and we saw it slowly come together. It was a LOT of work but it looked pretty sweet once it was done.

And that is why you hear people yelling FOR THE EMPEROR rather than FOR LOGICAL AND QUANTIFIABLE BASED DECISIONS FOR THE BETTERMENT OF THE MAJORITY!

knowing what its worth and the hassle of putting together a multi-part metal kit, I would put it on ebay and then buy a resin one from Forgeworld and go drinking on the change

#40,269? They've sold that many of those things?!?! And this thing is 13 years old, I wonder what number they're up to now....
Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

Nah, they made a few hundred at tops, I think the number might be 250. They were £400 when released and I think that's about the value of them now, perhaps more with the box and paperwork. Even though they are a very rare sight, people just prefer the resin FW one or simply don't want this metal nightmare so it's not been a good investment from that perspective. Still makes a hell of a piece when complete though.

... I'm finding it so hard to actually work on this thing .... for one its gonna be a total PITA, but then it wont be in its nib impossible doesnt exist anymore state =/.
So i put together my stompa the rest of the wa and will have borrowed a dremmel by Wednesday~ and can start on this thunderhawk in earnest, so if you want to see new stuff bout that should check then ... for now pics of my stompa in action pose lol...
I think i MAY have gone just a TINY bit overboard on the gun arm... but the arm as supplied seem so unorky as far as firepower i just had to deal with that .... 4 valk missiles 2 punisher cannons an ork kannon 1x valk multiple missile pod and a basilisk earthshaker cannon later i think it looks ok , might need a few more guns tho :/
The stompa overall, just gonna need ot add a ton of tiny gubbinz, spiky bits and such, but the main bit its done.
