They are metal, and I dunno if the heads are separate but I think it would fit.

If you're just looking for any beaky heads, there should be some on ebay... I know in 3rd edition I had lots of them, and loved 'em, I'm not sure how many (if any) are on the current sprues...

Yes, it IS more accurate, as before you were asking for Mk. 5 heads, which aren't the beakie Mk. 6 heads in this later picture.

The ones in the first picture were on 1 miniture.

Way back (geeez I can even remember when exactly but it was mid 90's) they made one miniture for each armour times up to MK 8 or 9. There were available in 3 man sprues. I had them all but no idea where now.

The second picture is Rougue trader era. Hahaha I even remember the Chapter as the "Space Sharks". That is also a 1 piece Metal miniture.

I have a a complete Rouge Trader era Space Marine army (Crimson Fists) here I should post one day.

Anyway the head is not seperate.

Beakie heads are not uncommon though in plastic. Although they are little more refined than the one pictured.

I have some metal mini's with beaked heads for sale in the Dakka Dakka swap shot if your interested.

Cheers.

Search eBay for "40k Marine Bits" and you'll come across some eventually. Or you can go to an internet bits site like thewarstore.com and see what they have.

Virtually every bitz site has them, they're pretty expensive though (I've seen a guy who spent over $100 just to make a 100% beaky army)

I made this tutorial a while back for making your own from the standard marine helmets. Probably not that easy to follow though.

...but it works out cheaper if you can get the hang of it.

Certain bits cost more than others due to demand. On the other hand, resin is also expensive. A lot more so than just buying (or trading for) bits off someone.

There was the original plastic marine sprues which had beakie helmets like in the second picture. They can go for silly prices on ebay but if you're lucky you can get cheaper ones too as I did. The bodies are pretty rubbish, but the helmets are useable as are the weapons and ammo pouches etc, forget the arms though except for the one that holds the missile launcher.
