Hey all,

I am in the middle of doing a massive Cadian Imperial Guard army, and I am in the middle of building a Leman Russ Main Battle Tank. My brother had already built on and had glue the Heavy bolter side sponsons on it, but I had tore them off. Now I am thinking, was that the brightest move? Should I magnetize the sponsons? How can I do it with the tank that is already built? Should I just glue the sponsons on and tell people before playing that the weapon system either does or doesn't exist in the particular list of that day?

I have a couple of Valkyrie's/Vendetta's that will eventually be magnetized, but I see those as a greater importance than the Russ'? What does the dakka community think? Should I just glue the sponsons on and tell people before the game that they are "not there?" Or should I try to magnetize them? If I try to magnetize them, what size magnet would be the best size? With an already built tank, what would be the best way to approach the situation?

Thanks for your help,
Chappy P!

Have a go at magnatizing them , my friend did with his Leman russ. It came out okay , it takes a little work but the results are good .

Sometimes I need those extra points to try/fit another squad in. It is very nice to be able to just pop them on/off when needed. I say go for it.

Go for it. Its an easy thing to do and means you don't have to buy another tank

No reason not to magnetize, really. The russ is an easy kit to magnetize, and it keeps all your options open. Just use good magnets, not the kitchen variety
