While a video game is involved, this isn't actually about the game. Apparently Mythic's Warhammer Online billing system went a little bonkers and charged lots of people (including some ex-subscribers) multiple times this month, sending many to the poorhouse, temporarily. Having to refund $15 to a bunch of people would be problematic and we are talking about upward of a $1000 per person, often half being overdraft fees.

Screw nerd rage, when someone screws up billing like that, normal people raging would be quite appropriate.

I cancelled my account months ago and was charged $16.23 x 14 for a total of over $200 dollars. Completely and totally unacceptable. If this game weren't on its way down the tubs already, I'd say it was going to die.

Please do. I am beyond angry about this. My bank account is nearly zero because of their error.

Can you take a screen shot of what it would look like in your War account?

Mine shows up empty. Doesnt even have my previous subscriptions.

It doesn't appear on your WAR account, just in my bank statement. It showed up as 14 transactions from Mythic Entertainment.

The people who unsubscribed and were being charged still have active play time left on their accounts.

Aren't the banks picking this up as some kind of frauding? Would have thought they might have contacted those effected, seeing as this kind of bank activity seems fishy.

Some banks are, others seem to not really care.

It's only multiple small transactions over a short amount of time to the same place, not suspicious at all.

The bank my mom uses didn't notice someone going on a $1500 shopping spree in her name at a store in Fresno, CA.

The bank I use noticed when Forge World accidentally double-charged me for buying Weathering Powders.

They got the charges reversed within 24 hours for most of the people, but the big issue is that some banks are refusing to revert the overdraft charges apparently.

Probably due to the fact it should be EA's, or whoevers cock up this actually is, responsibility.

Totally this. Anychance a bank has to make extra cash, they are going for it. And the fact that this was a big companies fudge up....yea I would make them pay the overdrafts as well tbh

I guess what bank checks for is a client's spending patterns.

Free gameplay for life... Problem solved.

This is just one more reason for me to never play an MMO ever.
