Anybody used it? Like it? Hate it?

Nah, never used it. I'd rather twist up some thin wire and use that as barbed wire.

I much prefer this:

It's cheap enough to not bother making your own. Although making your own is easy and cheap.

I have a good way that is effective and also cheap a friend showed me that if you get some solder wire you wrap thinner wire around it to get your desired look of barbed wire it works a treat but I have trouble making it.

Used it- works well and you get a fair amount of it. I've based 50+ minis off of it, and I've still got enough let to do another 20, no problem.

I don't like it. Not an issue with the quality of FW vs. other companies, I've just never liked the look of the wrapped stuff. Barbed wire needs barbs to look right. I just make my own, since I'm too cheap/broke to buy the sheets of photo-etched stuff. Unless you're using tight coils around an entire big terrain piece, you usually don't need that much, anyway, so making up a small section doesn't take long. Conversely, you can always spend an hour making a ton of it and you'll be set for months - just snip, bend, and glue what you need.

Gathering the Informations.

Army Painter has some really really nice barbed wire. You get a huge coil of it for like $5, and it maintains the illusion of barbs without being dangerous to handle(like FW's).

I like GWS's barbed wire's appearence. But it's 14 bucks a roll...

Okay, just want to make a small comment here. Those of you who are talking about the "Wrap around" barbed wire, that isn´t FW, that´s GW´s own. The stuff from FW is etched brass, and is waaay better looking. It has the barbs, nice and spiky too.

I´ve used it in several places on my Krieg army, for example on Sentinel bases, and on some objective markers.

Some examples:

For the sentinels I used quite a bit, but the effect is nice when I have them in a group, they kinda look like they´re walking through a field strewn with barricades.

And here´s one of my objective markers, for this, and for the sentinels I actually prepainted it on the brass sheet, because I learned previously that due to the barbs this thing is a brush KILLER if you paint it after it´s been rolled up and the barbs are pointing in every direction.

Again, as you can see, totally different than the GW product.

Oh, and also, I´ve used it on four sentinels and about 15 IG guys. And there´s about half of it left, maybe a little less.

Still rolling ones...

Great examples there. Thanks for sharing Xanthos!
Also great tip on painting it on the frame. Will have to remember that one!

Thanks guys. I didn't order it, but I will consider it or some others suggested for my future IG projects.
