Those of you who play Call od Duty Modern Warfare 2 will know that it takes a long time to rank up to prestige level. I was wondering if any of you on ps3 know a way of making your way up these ranks slightly quicker without hacking or cheating.

Play domination mode or search and destroy. You get far more XP that way than the various death matches, and as you know where people will be moving to and from, you can set a lot of traps (or camp a bit) for extra kills and faster XP.

Yeah i have been playing demolition for the past few weeks now and found that that has a really good match bonus , i am 3rd prestige rank 31 now and i know the maps quite well , Any suggestions on a class i should use for sertain game types ?

Just chase the high XP achievements and be sure to do it on each prestige level. I'm only on 4th prestige and it takes about 30 hours of gameplay for each increase.

It normally takes me around 1d 20 hrs to prestigee dont know if this is good or not really , Do you have PSN ?

It's very strange, on my computer the multiplayer doesn't work.

You'd think that out of the 6 billion people in the world that someone would be on.

What do you mean by it doesn't work do you mean that it will not put you into a server or lobby ?

Domination, S&D are best. Or Sabotage, which can be long and drawn out allowing you to amass a large amount of XP.

Those game modes along with moving through your available weapons for XP farming is a fairly quick technique.

Am I the only one who thinks having to grind in a (wannabe) competitive FPS is complete and utter nonsense?

There's no need to grind. You can perform perfectly well with the default classes or lower-level gear. Personally I just play the game for enjoyment, and get extra enjoyment when I get new stuff.

I play the game with mates, but down to Earth it is a glitchfest. I find myself fine in open ground for example, I see someone shooting in my direction then pull into cover unharmed and then die, wtf? It's getting more and more stressful to handle ^_^ But, yeah...had to be said, needed to let it out...

You can do it a few ways without resorting to hacking.

1: S&D is your friend.
500 points a kill + extras from killing bomb carriers and planting / disarming makes it even more worth while.

2: Challenge whore.
Simply change your setups so they work towards challenges.
Once you finish a weapon move on to another one.
As allways, perks are a nice quick way to get challenges done.

3: Large games.
Playing the large team domination is great for kills and challenges (see above)
Not only that, but go for the most points out of a kill.
I use the intervention only (FMJ's and sleight of hand)
Simply go for headshot, longshots and your getting there quickly.
Make it a buzzkill for extra points.


4: Relax.
No point going on a bender playing it for ages each day.
Looking at the leader boards on my account, im now 8th prestige in 8.5 days, everyone near me on the scores has played for 15+ days simply because they stick to the same setups.


5: Its cheap, but effective.
Make sure you have 5 friends with you, all from the same area.
That way you are sure to get host and cut down on irritating problems.
When im playing with 5 friends i get host 90% of the time, while a team mate gets it if i dont.
Also, work as a team, the win gets you extra points, so it doesent matter if someone steals your kill, the guy is still dead and your team have another point.

Also, make sure your NAT is set to open, otherwise you will have tons of problems

It's definately the hit registry no doubt. My connection is fine on any other game, but MW2, the server just doesn't like me xD

Generally you get the hit delay when being shot at by someone from another country.
Considering i simply no-scope and quick-scope only, i get this alot.
Also, you should get it where you or other people fire nowhere near someone and get a kill.
Its all part of the imperfect system you have to live with lol.

However, i still cant explain hit markers without kills.
Got a few montage vids im working on and in most i add a fail reel to the end.
This generally consists of getting 3 headshot hitmarkers with an FMJ intervention lol, its irritating, but everyone gets it.

I have to agree with another post earlier... you don't need to grind, the game is perfectly playable from level 4...

I mean, I use pretty low-level guns at level 70, I think the highest-level required gun I use is the ACR, with the Stinger coming in at second

Set your killstreaks to nuke, etc, as long as you have the nuke it's fine. Get a friend and form a party, join a free-for-all match. Use a class with silenced weapons and tactical insertion (you and your friend), find a nice hiding spot and let one of you two get the nuke and use it, switch off between games.

Do this in a match that I'm playing in and I will eradicate you, not only that, I'll tell the whole room where you are and "rally the troops" in a way.

In a legit way, use hardcore to get headshot achievements, headquarters is a difficult way to do this, but it is possible. Headquarters is also a points fest, capture the HQ and for every five seconds you stay alive, you get 5 points, not to mention points for kills and match bonus points as well.

Personally I play hardcore and snipe with a scar-H using acog and fmj. Cold-blooded is a definite for harcore and a blast shield wouldn't hurt, change your killstreaks to manually used ones or airstrikes, because most hardcore players use cold blooded, heli's, sentry guns, and harriers are almost useless. But you can still see a person if you use predator or ac-130, etc.

Also, this makes the thermal scope useless unless you want a challenge (playing derail using thermal is a great way to boost your spotting skills).

So stick with red dot sight or acog and maybe a silencer in a hardcore match and you should be able to rack up points and headshots. Both of which will fill the challenge meters and let you level faster.
