An original idea that surprisingly wasn't covered by the GW Planetary Empires expansion. Thanks for this contribution to the 40K community!

That's fantastic! Just let me know how it goes alright? Also, if you have any ideas that you think would improve it, i'd like to know, either in this thread or by PM.

So has anyone actually played this? The rules are interesting, I'd like to hear some playtest reports or feedback. We're looking for a campaign type system to play when I get back home.

You and me both, heheh. When I played this with my gaming group, I really enjoyed it, although most of the first few turns were just expansion and you have to have people willing to play the part of independant armies so that the campaign doesn't stall waiting for that one person to curbstomp the independant planet. For this reason, if you have a group that gets impatient quickly or only likes playing battles, I'd suggest making a rule that allows you to get into combat with each other quickly, that is, if your map isn't set up that way.

Anyway, if you do decide to play it, as ever, I'd love to hear how you got on and/or what improvements you think could be made to it.

I will, but don't expect anything soon. I'm in the desert for another 6-8 months. Boring, but it's giving me a chance to paint up my Wood Elves and my Scyrah.

It seems I can't DL the PDF file for some reason....

Anyway...from the looks of the activity, no many have played this, and it does sound interesting....

It would be awesome to have a persistent campaign with a game group, although the idea of someone sitting out as a GM kind of sucks...unless you get a non gamer, then it might work.

Looking at all of the games GW does have, putting them all into a "Grand Campaign" would be cool, Battlefleet Gothic, Aeronautics Imperalis, then the 40k Expansion rules.

I'm surprised GW hasn't come up with something similar.

*update* Finally DL'd the campaign rules to get some ideas...
