They didn't let you use yours? My LGS said the other day that I could use my Luna's Legion. I guess it all depends on your shops owners I guess then.

MLP teaches you about friendship, tolerance, understanding the flaws of ourselves and others, and overcoming them.
Jersey Shore teaches you that treating people like gak is the quickest way to be popular.
I've seen terrible, terrible things.
And they are named "The Situation."

There are some who walk until their legs fail them and they fall to the ground. I find that respectable.
Then there are those who drag themselves further. I find that admirable.

I think those things are hilarious. I'm just waiting for an episode dealing with romance (it'll come, given enough seasons) with entire clips that can be used for those things.

Tomorrow will be the 15th out of 18 listed episodes for Season 2, but there's no set number, yet.
Anyway, the "going home" theme for the last day of EqD's Artist Training Grounds got the creative juices flowing again. That and watching The Prestige.

It's an episode where everypony got drunk, and had one of the best letters to Celestia ever:

The best part was, it seemed like the Cider Squeezy worked perfectly fine. Until they upped the speed and reduced quality control, it was putting through proper apples as well- probably, if Flim and Flam had gone to 50-50 or 25-75 in favor of the Apples, they'd have been able to sell a Cider Squeezy that day.

I'm glad they didn't do a "technology bad, old ways good" lesson with that one. I was fearing that would be the low point to an otherwise great episode.

I'm starting to become aware of the force that is MLP. Its presence is felt across the interwebz! I actually happened to catch when this thread started, and laughed pretty hard. I was amazed when I noticed it was still up after months, 50 pages and climbing. Now I've seen references to MLP on other forums, and see that this thread is still going strong, and going for 100 pages!
Anyways, I've got a 3.5 year old daughter, and am always looking for stuff for her to watch. What's the best way to jump into MLP? How many seasons in are they? I don't have cable or satellite, just DVD and youtube. We usually borrow disks from the library for her, but I've never seen MLP there yet (although I guess I haven't actually looked for it).
Probly some pretty dumb questions but I thought I'd see what you bronies have to say...
Fun and Fluff for the Win!

It's 15 episodes into season 2 of a projected 26. Season 1 was also 26 episodes long. There are no MLP: FIM DVDs as of yet (and the only one planned contains only 5 random episodes), but all the episodes are on youtube, and you can buy them through iTunes.

God I loved the very ending of the new episode! I literally broke down laughing at the message to celestia
On the episode itself, it was funny, cute and all, good episode.
Spoiler:
But on a deeper level I thought it was pretty interesting and it was probably very good of them to not put in a too in your face "this is good, this is bad" lesson.
Nerivant wrote:I'm glad they didn't do a "technology bad, old ways good" lesson with that one. I was fearing that would be the low point to an otherwise great episode.
this basically. Though in a way I still thought it did paint a slightly less bright picture of progress. I mean sure maybe their cider isn't as tasty (though we really don't know how it would have tasted with the quality control on), but at least there is enough cider to make everypony happy.
Well I guess as long as they didn't have an Adam Smith pony coming along and saying "don't worry everypony! Our free market economy will regulate itself!" I won't complain Maybe some things shouldn't be given to deep of a thought, though it is funny how an episode of MLP lead me back to think about Keynes, Smith, Marx etc... what if they both parties would have produced cider side by side and let the demand regulate who stays? What if the mayor subsidized the traditional production of cider? Is it ok for a single family to dominate a large part of a whole towns food and goods production and sales? Is it ok for said family to threaten people who want to open a business in the area they dominate? Would competitive climate create a happier ponyville or drive the "local" businesses into the ground? What if the Apple family just hired ponies to buck the apples and then sold them to the brothers to sell cider for a share of the profit and then lived on that money or invested it else where? If so, could the workers on the fields question their relatively low pay from the Apple family who makes a major share of the profit simply because a member of nobility gifted them with a piece of land before they were even born? Maybe I should shut the buck up?
