Do you use stormtroopers? I normally use 10 with 2x Meltas and a power sword in a Valkyrie with airborne as their operation.

So far they have preformed very well.

They either down something expensive with Meltas, They and their valkyrie take alot of fire or they do both and/or blow away Meq.

And with a power sword and each of them having a pistol and chainsword they arent to bad in close.

So what are your opinion's and experiences with stormtroopers?

How do you normally use them?

I'm both orderly and rational. I value control, information, and order. I love structure and hierarchy, and will actively use whatever power or knowledge I have to maintain it. At best, I am lawful and insightful; at worst, I am bureaucratic and tyrannical.

I think;
That their description / art in the codex and elsewhere is awesome! But. Their models suck. They ought to be redone. As somethingother than kasrkin. Kasrkin look awesome, but they don't have hoods. D;

They're very expensive though. They're like space marnies cost, but worse. AP3 is rad, but that's still an S3 gun.
I havn't fielded them yet personally, but I've heard many stories of embarrassing failure.

I have to say, their cost is pushing it for a T3, 4+Sv model. Fire dragons cost the same, and have a bloody meltagun! (which is why you see fire dragons everywhere, stormtroopers not so much) This makes them kind of risky to use as a straight-up fighting unit.

If I were to take them, I'd use 5 w/2 meltaguns. 105 points I think, 2 melta shots from an accurate deep strike. Probably outclassed by CCS or Vet squads in fast transports in a mechanised guard list. Would have a place in all infantry armies though.

I like them I have found that they can make their points back plus a little extra against MEQ then they die, however in my opinion this is fine as while my opponent is dealing with them my Leman Russ's are cremating his army and my more vulnerable 5+ save infantry are not getting shot at.

I fyou have the points, then use them as peopole use suicide termis - small unit, reroll deepstrie ability, and meltaguns. They are a huge distraction (you have to kill them, as they can kill MEQs quite nicely) just not necessarily a survivable one - unless you risk DT tests by landing in cover.

10-pt Inquisition Stormies with 5-man minimum and 10-pt Plasma as Scoring Troops are quite reasonable and playable.

Kasrkin? Overpriced crap.

You know something's gone absolutely crazy when the Daemonhunters codex has a unit who's better than the IG dex equivalent.

Never used them during the current Codex ( or the previous one for that matter ). Expensive suicide gimmicks. Marbo gives me better and more reliable results.

actually, according to Inquisitor Vail from the Commissar Cain series the whole point of storm trooper training is to provide dedicated foot troops for the inquisition, and only the top 5% are taken, the rest are palmed off onto the Imperial Guard, so that kinda makes sense.
