Been looking into the history of the Wolfbrothers Chapter but I've had very little luck.

Can anyone inform me :-
What happen to the chapter for it all to end sadly.

I looking for fluf for my own successor Chapter based around the Space Wolf's

I don't think their chapter colours or heraldry was ever shown. They were disbanded due to genetic instabilities, possibly a severe outbreak of the Wulfen gene.

The Wolf Brothers was Leman Russ' way of preventing a 2nd Civil War.

Post-Heresy ya see, the Loyalist legions were in turmoil. Half the primarchs were gone. Edward and Silly Iron Fists were Deadified. Dorn was all emo and unfit to do anything more important than sulk, Corax was busy corrupting his geneseed, Vulkan was presumably eating Jaffa Cakes somewhere and Leman Russ was busy on the piss.

Rowboat on the other hand was throwing a hissy fit, screaming about how his book was awesome and better than any other books ever made ever and how everyone should totally follow his book and if they don't they are a big doo-doo head and a heretic! So he goes to Leman and goes "Oi, You haz to many Marines, split in two or else."

Leman is like, "Bizatch, Pleeeease!"

Rowboat is like, "Oh no you did-ent!"

Leman is like, "Oh by Dad's Testicles, fine. Here is the Wolf Brothers, waaaaaaaaaaaay over there. You don't need to go check, ya can trust me!".

Rowboat is like, "Kay."

Leman is like "Oh noes they got disbanded, what a shame! I'ma go into the EoT and kick ass for the next 10k yearks kthnkbai."

Thank you Gwar. That was... enlightening.

It's all got to do with the Canis Helix, the unique part of the Space Wolves Gene-Seed that Makes Space Wolves, Space Wolves. It's to what they attribute their (even for a Space Marine) incredible senses, and on a more sinister side, the Wulfen curse. It's also what makes the Space Wolves think and operate like a pack of wolves.

The problem with Space Wolf successor chapters, as exemplified by the Wolfbrothers is that to separate any of Russ's sons is to take a wolf away from the pack. To keep the wolf metaphor, wolves separated from the main pack are forced to revert to a more feral state, in this case, the Wolfbrothers almost entirely succumbing to the Wulfen.

All Kidding aside, I truly do feel that it was a token gesture to keep Rowboat from causing a 2nd Civil war.

I always thought the Wolf Brothers were dismantled and purged for their horrible name.

I always thought it was possible they didn't have enough experienced wolf priests to deal with the whole wulfen instability thing.

I could only wish the space wolves would be purged for their name.. Sadly it comes with the thickest plot armour in the 40k universe.

i have considered aking a "counts as SW" army.

Actually, that's pretty acurate...I do think the wolf brother existed though.

Russ prolly sent 6 marines away he didn't like and said they were a new chapter.
