Just wondering if there is some more fluff out there on the missile that decimated the crimson fists. Could it's machine spirit be revolting or did the orks gun it down ? And could anything have survived the blast? because i am thinking about converting a "count's as" Tigurius that survived the blast through channeling all his psychic power into a massively powerful force dome.

Bassicaly their was a glich in the system when they started to fire it then when the checked again it was fine, they went ahaead with the launch and it cut out halfway up it fell back down with its armour peircing tip aimed sraight at Arx Tyrannus and ploughed through the monersery hitting the Ammo stockpile And throwing the crimson fists All over the Mountains.
If your character did survive the blast he would of had to fight against ork lootas that came afterwards'
also there were lots of librarians at New Rynn City that you could Fluff out and use for you counts-as.
Hope that helped

Thanks for the info! Although i do think that their chief libby would be defending the fortress. Maybe he gets into some awesome trance during the force dome and shoots lightning out of the shield to kill the lootas. he could then maybe travel around the battered agri-fields as a loner until he is reunited with the chapter. Swearing utter vengeance to the greenskins. I may write a short story about him!

The best thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's far too late to stop reading it.

It's a well known ritual for aspiring first-company marines to eat nukes as a way of showing their toughness to the chapter.

If you want to go OTT on the theme, then why not run a libby army?
Start/fluff
Group or librarians created a large fprce dome to protect themselves blah blah blah End/Fluff
Run an army using the GK rules, but use libby models, using the tig model as a grand master etc.
You can use the rank of the libby to reflect thier unit placement (basic GK, justicar etc)
Also, you can have a unit or 2 of termie libbies
Possible to make dreads into libby dreads aswell, may not be able to run them as such, but still adds to a theme.
sounds weird, but may work lol.

Jack, considering the fact that a chapter has around 25 libbys in total, if even that, and the crimson fists were ka-boomed... they probably have about 10 left.. nowhere near enough for a GK army. It's a good idea, but I don't think it would work.
Also, a small detail I once noticed somewhere: it said the missile destroyed most of the fortress monestry - not all of it. So they weren't completely screwed.
Also, before I read that I remember thinking... if they didn't become a fleet based chapter and their fortress monestry was obliterated. Meh. Tbh, I think that GW came up with a really stupid idea when designing the fluff for the Fists. I mean, except for how the monestry was destroyed, it's all cool. In the SM 'dex, they put so much emphasis on the sheer impossibility of the missile actually doing any damage.. and look. IMO, they could have come up with a much better way for it to happen. Like the Orks had some archeotech weapon from the heresy... like a space hulk with part of some mahussive pre-heresy ship stuck in it... with awesome weaponry. That would have been much more interesting.. and there could have been some boarding actions and stuff. But no, just *dumb techmarine fires faulty missile that cannot damage the fortress monestry but does*.

I just made up my own further background: due to the orks demolishing the entire infrastructure on rynn, it became impossible for the crimson fists to keep order and eventually chaos cults started to surface. Pedro Kantor tried to battle these. But because the chapter didn't have enough marines to stop this heresy and the cults were growing. An inquisitor ordered Exterminatus on rynn in order to make sure these heretics will never see life again. after this the Crimson Fists were fleet based for about 5 years after witch they found the planet Urva II of the Urvaean drop troops regiments. This desert world seemed to have the perfect balance between imperial order and hardened desert nomads. So the Crimson fists set up a fortress monastery there after having discussed the means with the planetary governor.
I have based the planetary empires campaign that i play with my gaming group on this story.
