A while back i used a pva sand mix to create mud effects on my SM tanks.. well, i want to get rid of it! any ideas? would a brake fluid bath work?

depending on the type of PVA used, a long soak in warm soapy water will probably work.
PVA is only water-proof if the tub says it is.
Attack with a stiff toothbrush after 1/2 hour or so.

Don't even need that, PVA glue with come off with an overnight soak in just warm water, and won't damage the rest of the paintwork to boot!

Hmmm cheers for the advice! the thing is i put the mix on before undercoating to paint the mud afterwards... so that horrid pva layer has a nice black undercoat on it now!! any ideas? ive heard about somthing called simply green? any good for this?

im repainting/rebasing my sw atm and theres pva glue on the bases as well.

if i stick the knife between the base and the glue,i can remove the whole glue and sand and whatevers on the base in one piece.

could work for you as well

Right ive done it!! cheers guys you really helped! I used very hot water with fairy liquid in and a toothbrush! it worked on both primed and painted tanks! I now have clean ready to prime tanks! thanks again!!
