I want to share an old conversion project that I posted in the Imperial Guard Message Board.
I wanted to create an Armored Car transport based on the Chimera hull. I used a little bit of
plastic card and parts from Chimera and Predator tank.

I know it is a bit too clean, I am kinda hesitant to add battle damage to it but will probably
get around to doing it later on. Just wanted to share this old idea of mine.

Thank you, the wheels are from the Old Ork Truck kits, I believe they are the larger size one.

Neat. I think thqat the wheels are perhaps a tad small, but a nice job nonetheless.

lmfao.... I like the conversion, the paint really makes it better, but i find myself wishing it was a half trak.... still good stuff! If it were still unpainted id suggest adding some rivets to your side plating/plasticard to bring it all together. on second look you did add rivets.... lol good job!

The joints on the turret could use some work, but overall it's a nice job.

I really like the conversion, though the turret's a bit big for my taste.

Looks great regardless! Nice work.

Nice job. One question, did you consider using the original chimera turret at all? The predator turret on a wheeled vehicle looks a little too big.Other than that i may have to hijack this idea.

I agree with Harvest, the turret is a bit big, all in all a good piece though.

Way to add to a thread my friend.

I think a few more of those and you would have a pretty cool theme to your army. I agree on the wheel size though, they look a tad small. You should goto a dollar store and browse around for wheels. Youd be surprised at how nice some of those wheels are on those toys. For under $10 you could easily have enough wheels for 2 or 3 of those

How does it look with a Chimera turret? I really like it overall, but the turret does look a bit too big.

I agree the turret looks a bit large, but I wonder if part of it isn't the plate that seems to be just an extra layer in the coupling. It also looks much better in the painted version. Part of what makes it look jarring in the unpainted version may just be the dark grey on white.

It's a nice, solid kitbash! I only recommend that you buy a file and file down your joins and mold lines, and get rid of your burs where the sprue was cut from the model. That extra step would push this from being a good kitbash to being a great kitbash.

Nice conversion. This would be a great counts as chimera.

The turret is all out of proportion- I think mounting it on the chimera turret base makes it look even taller.

The mold lines & seams on the turret, and hull heavy bolter kinda jump out.

And the open holes in the wheel hubs need some attention too

I like seeing anyone modify the ugly IG tanks, even whith wheels that are too small yours look better than a stock chimera

I went ahead and cleaned the mold line on the barrel, sorry but the picture is not as bright since I do not have my old lighting set up.
Anyway I do agree that I need to fill in the holes on the wheels and as for the turret being too big, I can probably compare how the regular chimera turret will look later on. Oh yeah, the 2 models in back ground are 2 storm ravens that I am making for someone.

Also, I use the model as a Chimera substitute when I play my IG force.

I'm going to have to side with the 'turret doesn't fit' crowd... I think the regular Chimera turret, or a Razorback turret, would work much better.

Other than that, it's an interesting and different conversion. If I had seen it before you had painted it, I would have recommended shifting the rear wheels forwards a fraction... but since it's already painted, I won't.

Im glad you put a plate behind that hunter killer. I imagined a guardman getting out of that side door right as the missile was fired. Made me laugh for a bit.

Went ahead and swapped barrels to the drop tank turret which is based on the Chimera, to compare

let me know if it is a better fit and I will make it this way instead of the Predator tank turret one.

I like the silhouette with the smaller turret alot more. Seems alot more practical, as the pred turret seems too big for the smaller chassis (which is alot narrower without the track sections).
