Really like the colours, and the near-stone-metal effect. Is he standing on a... cake? (no sorry, it just looks wierd, like a blob rather than a part of a greater sea of slime, but really nicely done)

big fan of the color scheme /grin my army is very similar dark grey with one red/black leg. In the army profiles as Deviants of Mars if you are curious. GReat job on the dred by the way.

I like the goop! The grey on the body looks a tad thick, but apart from that, nice work

I would also love to see how you did the toxic goo. As for criticism, I like the dried mud weathering you did on the feet, but it seems to clash with the very wet looking surroundings, to me. Rocky, red-brown ground =/= beige dirt when dry.

Nicely done. I think the Mechanicus icon on the back of the dread could do with some love though. The other iconography looks good and that detail will help lift the back end somewhat I think.

Also its a clever dreadnought that knows when it needs to wash its feet

I thoguht ti was water instead of goop but I like it. To make it look more like a lake you should have had the edges of the goop kinda just cut off. have a nice solid break on it like a circle of the planet was just cut out.

Cheers for the feed back and nice comments dudes,

After reading some of the feedback i think iam gonna dismantle the main body from arms/legs and strip with Fairy power spray and redo. I painted straight over my last colour scheme on the body before i found summit good that gets rid of the paint

Also i agree with those of you who said it looks like it bit of a dead end with sludge/water ... any ideas on how i can have a solid break to make it look like it continues , off top of my head i'd guess sum sort o clear plastic to keep it all on the base while it dries? though not sure iam that skilled lol.

The sludge/water i just randomly had the idea for ..

I Just covered the area of the base in GW modeling sand where i wanted the sludge (as it gives the sludge a bit of texture rather than bein flat), then put some Medium strength PVA glue on some plastic then mixed in Dark Angels green fully... then whacked it on the base liberally (need alot as it gets less when it dries)..then added little bits of Goblin/Snot green on the surface of the mix. At this point it'll look super bright green because of the PVA... then i left it overnight and it went back to pritty much DA green colour by morning and had formed just over the modeling sand rather than staying thick...i then just added the watereffects 4/5 times over few days so it dried clear

Iam currently working on my 2nd dread so try and juggle both

Thanks again for ya help guys

The green on the base really work with the dreads colours, and I really hope you dont scrap the base when repainting. But maybe if you made more of the goo on the back side, to make it like he is standing on two rocks in the goo rather than at the edge of it?
Perhaps the dark brown on the rest of the base could be made lighter or more pale not to steal the deept/low effekt of the goo?
And finally, you could simply place a small stone in the middle of the goo to make it look more natural, like a rock braking the surface. This is ofcourse, if you want to work on the base, it looks ok as it is.

Looks good, I'm surprised you're thinking of repainting it. I think the mud/weathering on the feet is particiularly well done.

Agree that the back looks just a touch too sparse. I have no idea what you should do to jazz it up a bit though.

Maybe splash some light green on the shore of the goop to give it a glowing effect?

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

@ 1-Up Stripped the main body yest, but left the rest of arms/legs as they are as they only 1 coat of paint ... think i will add to base so the glow effect is good idea thnx!

@ Fayric , yeah see what you mean about the base being dark , ill lighten that up @ will prob do the extra sludge on the back too.. nearly done repainting the main body so will post pics again

Cheers dudes!! Mucho helpful.
