Not quite sure how to approach this, so I'm going to take it seriously for a change instead of just insulting you

Does it interfere with other aspects of your life? Like do you skip school to go to GW on a regular basis?

There's your answer.

Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

Part of being 14 is that you're still a kid. Parents exist for discipline and teaching self-restraint / control....

Do you feel that you're excessive?

If you are sacrificing other aspects of your life to go throw some dice, then you are addicted.

But the funny thing about addicts is that they never realize they are addicted (have experience in this). If you are questioning it, then you are probably not addicted.

Besides, at 14, there will soon be things other then wargaming to distract you (things with breasts mainly).

Yes, I went there. So sue me.

Cheers

Meh.

Warhammer is pretty cool, of course, I never knew about Warhammer when I was in school, but I used to play a LOT of video games and such, practically every day when I was 13-14, never really went out for a year or two, until I started working out.

Ladies love the muscles, mate.

--------------------

I don't understand when people say wargaming addiction, if you spend hundreds of dollars on plastic miniatures, your addicted to it: the plasticrack.

If you keep buying more and more stuff, your hooked.

Pretty much anyone who plays this on a regular basis can be considered an addict.

Don't sweat it too much, just don't be one of those guys that, you know, makes every conversation about rolling dice and games and especially don't be the lowest of the low and quote stuff from the games or references or talk in a faux middle ages way 'for sooth' 'well met' 'Scoundrel! etc etc etc

My ex and now my wife both knew I was a geek even though they were not terribly interested in any aspect of the hobby. It helped seal the deal with both really

Contrary to school and high school and the media here-say its pretty barren for everybody so chill out and relax.

I would say most 14 year old boys are not great around girls so don't sweat it. Paulguise is right, if you think you may be addicted you are not addicted (at least in any harmful way).

With gaming and ladies, you just have to find the right lady. They are out there.

I agree with both, but really?Do you really want to have a girlfriend who plays warhammer?

At least I dont,I prefer teaching warhammer instead of making friends with veterans

I'm addicted. So what?

There are plenty of worse things to be addicted too.

This is actually a pretty healthy hobby/addiction when you think about it. Well...Maybe not so healthy for your pocket book.

It inspires creativity and it takes skill, focus, hard work, and determination. Most of the kids your age don't even have the attention span to even consider a hobby like this. So kudos to all you youngsters out there who are into Games-Workshop or any of the other mini war games. Keep it up, stay in school, yadda yadda, and all those other old timer’s words of wisdom.

eh, safer than crack right?
Idk if its better than a porn addiction, but im sure its more expensive.
Enjoy getting what you can while ur 14. Get a job and see if you still want to spend as much on 40k. Spending money is a little harder when you work for it imo. (I assume that ur unemployed, if not i appologize.)
More important things will come into your life with age.
For now enjoy the little things, like the mini men sitting on your desk.

I take back my earlier post. You have a problem

Namely, as soon as you try to bring a girl home and she sees the Rhino with a 10" long greenstuff penis on it, she'll either run screaming (bad) or she won't (worse-oh god, the crazy ones are worse...).

Edit-And Dakka doesn't censor that word.

Or that one

as long as you question your sanity you know its still there.

Warhammer 40k is a major facit of my life(though i have friends who couldn't care less about it)

i don't have a GF, but its mostly because i am full time in college and its tough to go after girls when you have assignments every week.

don't worry. you aren't addicted until the funny farm people show up and try to persuade you that DnD is a healthier game.

in all seriousness, i hear that the painting aspect of warhammer is actually somewhat attractive to girls, so if you paint well and enough, that shouldn't be a problem.

However, not being a girl, i wouldnt know

so instead of "paint the town red" you use "Paint your Khorn Bezerkers red" as a pickup line.

Truth. The test was bringing my girlfriend with me to pick something up at the GW store and exposing her to the full frontal nerdity there.

Artist = attractive. Mini painter = not quite as good.

As for the second, I haven't seen you since the winter, so I don't know whether or not you had that operation....
