Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

Hey folks!

I don't play Blood Angels, but I play against them from time to time. I ran into a Storm Raven that moved flat out across the table and used PotMS to multi-melta a battlewagon. Fortunately it missed, but it hit me with an idea.

Storm Ravens are heavy support? Where's the army lists that are comprised of 3 Storm Ravens filled with whatever as the core of the army. If you go first you flat out across the table and attempt to multi-melta 3 vehicles while you get a 4+ save in return and melta-ignoring AV12....and if you don't go first, you deep strike and attempt to do the same.

Three Storm Ravens, 3 Baal Predators....that's a list that would scare me.

Black Blow Fly did some lists like that, but by the time I got around to playing him was was trying Land Raiders instead.

You may want to ask him about the Storm Ravens. (I think that many people are put off by not having an available model, but you're right, I am surprised we're not seeing more proxies in that area. I've seen one locally, and it was not done and being used in a 3v3 game).

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1

i would love to try it, I even built a Dante/ Sang Guard list with 2 on paper. However, not having the model, and my conversion skills are lacking I will have to wait until GW/Forge World releases a model for it. Hopefully soon but I highly doubt it.

On Dakka he was Eldanar. In our area, he was Lee. R.I.P., Lee Guthrie.

the dark depths of hell

With a new Daemon Hunter codex due out later in the year and that Grey Knights were mentioned as being the other chapter that uses them I would imagine GW/FW will release then. Especially with the number of people requesting an official model.

I've been running 2 Storm Ravens and 2 Baal Predators in my list (basically not as all in on the alpha striking) and they're really terrifying. If I go first I basically either remove the 2 largest vehicle threats in the opposing army (or force them to start in reserve which is a win since by the time they come on I'm in their grill) or I get to put my juicy assault units right ontop of the enemy army while still shooting multimeltas at scary vehicles. The Baal Predators (and fast Razorbacks) are just grazy for moving quickly to support a move like this. The speed and mobility of these kinds of lists is still impressive to me and I've got 15-20 games in with my version at this point.

I've been thinking about something with 3 Stormravens, some Dreadnoughts, and then the rest of the army packed into them or Baal Preds. I get worried that my scoring units also have to do all of the killing, which means they're going to be doing a lot of dying as well. I'll probably proxy it up and try it out in the next couple of weeks though.
