I've been thinking a lot about the Angry marines. I like those guys they are awesome so I thought why shouldn't they have their own codex I'm now working on it but for now I only have the front cover of it so I want to know what do you think about it.I appreciate every advise from anybody. Obviously you could use it in the friend battles if your friend allow you to use it.

My first major complaint, your poll responses are extremely biased. Just read them to yourself. Your first & last 2 responses are extremely biased and an exclamation mark in a poll option just screams biased, just imagine that the responses were written by Dr. Henry Killinger from the venture brothers, bland and monotone for the most accurate response. I personally think you shouldn't do it because it's been done to death & I've never seen someone make a good one.

That said I personally think it's gonna be a tough thing to do but there are already many Angry Marine codexes out (About 5 if you look hard enough). I'm going to say your biggest trouble will be keeping it fair & balanced, most fandexes suffer from the author thinking that the army is so amazing & so should the codex but in the end creates an overpowered book that no one would ever play.
The other issue is you have to try to make it reasonable. A few of the fandexes I've seen go OOT silly, like the predator angrinator. Please just drop that one, no one wants to see a predator that shoots marines and immediately has them in assault, it's just not fair.

Those points aside if you think you can create a balanced & playable codex while maintaining the spirit of the angry marines then go for it.

Yes I will be hard and it will take a really long time to do it because I'm writing a book from 40k as well so I will have to manage some time on writing the book and then on trying writing the codex.
I personally think the hardest part will be the history of angry marines and their battles...so if anyone have any good ideas please post them here because it will help me a lot due to my not good English...yes that is really silly fire marines straight to assault but the name is good I might use it
I'll try my best to make it as fair and balanced as the Angry marines could be...I'll be posting everything here when I'll make something so I could improve it while other players of 40k will be giving me advises

No offense meant by this, but do you think you're the person to bring the Angry Marines into 5th edition? From what I've seen of your forum posts you don't have the greatest grasp of the English language. Perhaps even worse, you aren't screaming obscenities, and already apologized and backed down from a ridiculous claim that your poll was biased.

I do think that there's a need for an Angry Marine codex, but I'd like it written by someone who pounds keyboards so hard that they must be replaced after every page. Their computer ought to have a spit shield because they so often froth at the mouth. They should have some idea what badgerfeth means, and the ability to harness all of this unreasonable anger into a well-written codex. If you can still see straight enough to read this last sentence, I just don't think you're the one to do it. There's a reason that this codex comes from 4chan- it must be written by fa/tg/uy trolls. Sadly, I am not up the task either. I do not possess the requisite rage.

Henners91: well this codex is good but no one will go against you if you were using it it is funny and he/she has brilliant ideas but it is just codex for fun not playing but I'll try to make one for playing as well not only for fun.

Then let's get down to it. How does the basic Angry Marine differ from a Space Marine in game terms?

Space Wolves are crafty, and have counter-attack.
BloodAngels are crazy, and have furious charge and other bloody things.

What will make them different?

They have wrenches and sticks with nails in them. Ok they could be a BA successor chapter, with home made fluff on the background and officers.

as I said I don't know much about them and about 40k and I didn't said ether that I will research everything today I'll do it as my little hobby so it could take a year maybe two...maybe it can take less than that or maybe more...i don't personally know how long and it depends how I'll get into it...

Only thing that will make them different is that they are angry and love close combat and do anything to get into it...they have special weapons and different powers...they are stronger and maybe more accurate at shooting (I'm not sure about the shooting maybe they are same as the ordinary SM) I have a lot of research to do and a lot of hard work but no one ill persuade me to stop it...

This is what I was talking about. You can't make them better at CC AND shooting, that unbalances them unless you increase point cost. A previous codex had them with 2 base attacks but only BS3, as they are too pissed off & want to get into CC then care about shooting.

Actually, I was quite curious to see what you were going to do to make them different, Brother Jakub. I run mine as Space Wolves, which works pretty well. Dual powerfist wolfguard are a fair stand in for Powerfeet Terminators, and the Lone Wolves are a magnificent representation of Black Brothers.

What you're talking about is creating a new codex- to do that they must be more than just marines with bats, powerwrenches and a penchant for hating weeaboos, furries and spehs elfs.

They need a few units to make them interesting, like the Predator Angrinator, and they need a twist on their basic unit to set it apart. The twisted standard marine is the easiest thing to do. You might have something like a standard marine statline, but they may exchange their bolter for dual ccws of any sort. Rather than 2 specials, they could have 2 close combat weapons. Think about what special rule they need- Move through cover to represent smashing through cover with no regard for their surroundings, or a modified version of furious charge which just gives them +2 str, no initiative bonus?

The possibilities are endless- but much easier to keep balanced than a custom vehicle.

thanks for advise I have some plans my self but I need to just figure out the stats and names. but it will take a long time to do that to be honest and maybe some special rules...and I need to get more good pictures and that sort of stuff. but I think I can make it if I'll try really hard

Good luck to you I think you are going to have a hell of a job doing this. GW proves how long it takes to write a balanced and well thought out codex which is why you get crap like the blood angels codex.

Thanks and yes I know it will be really hard work but I'm prepared for that like I was prepared for the hard work on the book I'm writing from 40k but I'll give it my best to be honest I already have some ideas and I have made up stats I've made today in school so if you have any advises on them then please write them here thanks.

fething angry all the time!!- your sergeant is that angry that he can shoot in CC. On a roll of 1,2 or 3 he hits his own man and on a roll of 4,5 or 6 the enemy after that you roll to wound normally. This can be used only once and only on charge. The fire is count as a normal bolt pistol shot

There's the Angry Marines wiki. They aren't about shooting, like Dark Angels. They're about putting various objects through their opponents' orifices in order to kill them as quickly as possible. This doesn't seem consistent with WS 3. I do like the idea of S5 and T5, but that might be over the top for basic troops.

yes but they cost more points 100pts for 4 and one sergeant and 20pts for any additional marine (up to 5 additional marines) and about the WS maybe I should make them WS 4 that would be fair I guess...

Did you look at the pdf?
The difference between your 'statline' and how they were represented before is too far,
LD 9? why? They had 7 before to represent the fact that they are too angry to listen to orders.
Use the pdf, Its based on the 4th ed marine codex which had some better stuff.

Oh and taking a picture off the internet and adding the GW stamp and the word codex isn't you 'making' it yourself.

Also "fething brave" has an equilivent in the Black Templars codex. And they're not brave just too damn angry to care if they die.
Get some 40k expeirance 1st then look at this project again.

Ok, 20 points sounds like a reasonable jumping off point. We are, however, squad based. What options will this squad have?

Size of squad and weapons options will define their role. A Tac squad is only different from a Devastator squad because devastators can take more heavy weapons.

Assault style armies have the option of 2 specials in most cases, shooty armies have one special and a heavy. If you want to get really out there, you could add special ccw.

Sorry if i came across as rude.
But my advise is to put this aside and play some games and read some fluff.
And if you do make this you have to ask an oppenents permission beforehand to play this army.
In my area we are cautious (sp?) of homebrewed rules.
And you will never be able to play them in a tourny.

Just really start this army as a painting project and use either BA or SW rules for them until you get some good exp

Therefore if the guy wants to create it let him and when he has something more concrete than a few ideas offer constructive critisim rather than just shooting him down in flames. I know some people on here have others just seem to want him to forget the idea. If you don't like it don't post
