Recentley i rediscovered my favourite show from when i was younger (ish)
The show was Megas Xlr, don't know how many people will recognise that name.
And i thought, heck why not build it!
Build Megas!
I've got some ideas but before i build it I need to know what i could use it as. (Don't want to build it and have it just acculamating dust)
Have been thinking whether to make a datasheet for it also.

For the Chest I am thinking of converting a SM dread torso and make it a bit wider.

I was thinking of a model car!
But i haven't thought of scale really....

Hmm.. yeah an ork trukk would be about right for true 40k scale.
But only half as high as the head is a supercar afterall.

Any thoughts on a custom datasheet? Or would warlord titan just suffice?

Megas isnt quite that clean in design. And has a car for a head.

Dude, the mysteries of the universe are revealed everytime Coop breaks something. You have two options. Either build it, and run it as a Titan (preferabbly emperour), or ork it out and have Grazkrul driving it with a black and green painted squig next to him.

It's a great show, but a 40k scale one would be enormous, and hard to justify the time and effort.

I've heard of it, I remember seeing an episode of it once forever ago...

You might have better luck using one of the old super robots as a base. Something like Mazingar Z or Ideon

The first one is from Mazinger Z, and the second one is from Space Runaway Ideon.

And for the record, Ideon could kick the crap out of Megas. It ends up destroying the entire Universe in the end. Pretty badass for any robot, I must say.

yes, its a good thing. I have every episode on my computer in AVI format, have had them for ~3 years now.

awesome series, much better than most of the crap on TV now.

Coop SO OFTEN runs in, destroys the good guys, then tries to pass it off like an accident, and then fights the bad guys. Awesome.

Great show, very fun to watch even after the 30th re-watch at 4am

The designs in Gundam 00 are way too clean and rounded for Megas. I was expecting it to be Megas XLR when I saw the thread, sometimes it could be Orks

So I have to say this will be quite cool when it's finished.

This site pretty much has all the Mecha from anime in it, while not all have models most of the Gundams will. If you decide on a Gundam, you're after 1/100, 1/144 is too small.

This pic is my original Avatar and shows the scale between a 1/100 Zaku II F2 and a Space Marine.
1/144 is nearly half the height though.

I think one of the Prime transformer toys might make a good base.

Originally to debut in December 2003, Megas XLR was delayed and finally debuted on Toonami on May 1, 2004. It ran for two seasons before being canceled on April 26, 2005.

I loved that show. I would just scratch it off a wood frame with lots of plasticard.

Loved the show, though i think an Ork version of Megas would work better. Use parts from the Trukk for the Head Count as Dread or Mega Dread from new apocalypse book.

Crazed ork Driver as Coop and a cowardly grot as Jamie. Maybe have a captured sister of battle to represent the lady whose name i can't remember.

The one I was thinking of is an old OOP version from the first animated programs, but on amazom market it is going for about £250, so I guess that is out of the question

Just block out the legs a bit with plasticard and one of the larger ones there should be good for a knight/warhound sized titan.

What kind of wod would be good for a frame of this?
Proplem with wood though is that it becomes sigle pose but I'm not so ambiositious that it has to move too!!
