No denying it, the 40k Tau Manta is HUGE. Has anyone been rich (or insane) enough to buy one? If you have, please tell me about your game experience with it. But I probably won't get any replies from people who've bought one, let alone taken a year of work to paint it. But if anyone has bought one, please tell me.

A friend made one out of cardboard, drew little circles one it and wrote the gun names in them. It was kickass.

Just entertaining myself and also to see if anyones bought the forge world one. Also to see if they work in a game

We have the imfamous foam manta bouncing around our store. For two-three years, the offer has stood that the person to finally kill it gets to break it over his(or her) knee. It is still intact.

I don't think a single one of those has ever sold. I mean it's somewhere close to $1500 for one.

Ill have to admit, ive been tempted to buy one for the sheer hell of it.
1st thing would be to invest in an airbrush though lol.

You talking about the model or the rules? The "experience" of the manta is completely different than buying the overpriced model :p

We're usinga manta in my next game but not a real one.. Its very hard to kill AV13 with a 4+ save and 10 structure points

Yes, we've just all imagined the various pictures people playing with, holding, or otherwise displaying their Mantas.

I believe the current count from Forge World is 36.
