I'm talking about it not necessarily looking like it was assembled by a monkey, but rather someone who didn't know what was what... glued an ammo hopper to the front of a gun for e.g.
I'll start by saying two I did when I was a kid...
A Space Marine with two bolters dual-wield style...
And a Space Marine holding a bolt pistol like a boltgun because I ran out of the latter

For me, no idea. As for others? I don't think anyone really wants to bag out someones bad model.
I did duel boltgun style. STILL LOOKS GOOD. Then I gave up marines cause I found Eldar. 8)

The worst model I ever did personally was an old school rhino. They were fiddily to get right, and I ended up with the tracks toeing out and only two points where it contacted the table (the only upside was that it was painted crappy to match lol).
The worst model I have SEEN was a Leman Russ I picked up in a trade a few years ago (it was dirt cheap and I felt I could recover it with some work). Non of the seams were flush, the tracks were on backwards (and were wrong to boot), and the turret was glued into place. Its one saving grace was that the original assembler used CA glue as opposed to plastic cement, and once it had a few weeks soaking in Simple Green (I counted 4 globed on layers including a nice pink and a neon green) the bonds were soft enough to pry apart for a light sanding and a re-gluing. Now I wish I just would have left the sloppy job and covered it up in battle damage and conversions.

Thats hilarious because I had to do the same thing when I first started forever ago. And the bitch thing was, you could always pick that guy out no matter how big the game was.
I just realized the other day that I put a hatch on my BW upside down lol. So I guess Im still sucking on some things

I once bought a Predator off of Ebay that was a real mess. There was some stuff converted that was sort of clever, but the construction was terrible. It was the old-school metal conversino kit glued onto plastic, but it was glued with PVA...lots and lots of PVA. Everything was crooked, cock-eyed, and uneven. There were two or three different "roofs" under the turret - I don't know if he thought he needed to use all the pieces or they were trying to even it up or what. Turret was a complete sloppy mess - he had a nurgling holding it up so it didn't dropp down constantly Glue and crud all over. I was able to break most of the bonds, sand it, turn the worst of it into nurgly goodness, but man it was awful.
To my own shame, I've glued at least TWO rhino hatches on backwards. I keep thinking I should fix them, but meh.

oh man.... i had such a bad experiance with Tau FW..... When i first started tau i was like..... 12? And so, i did not look at the intrucions, cuz i was expecting them to be like space marines (any arm can go on whatever body Oh no..... I made quite a few that looked terrable... The one that i remember best was I Had a FW that was holding a rifle in the down postion across his chest, and then, with the holding hand for the end of the rifle, i put a carbine in..... It looked like he was playing telephone with the carbine....

I once repaired for a friend a Predator which had:
A sponson on the wrong way round and back to front.
One set of tracks going one way, the other the other.
A wrecked pintle mount.
Aweful joins.
I was quite impressed with the work I did on it to get it back to gaming standards!

I got a land Raider of a mate which had one sponson on the front, one on the back and had been painted a total of 3 different times, ultramarines, deathwing and dark angels.
Its now been repainted for the 4th time and is now a stand in battlewagon for my orks until I get a proper one put together.

I bought someones old SM collection. Some marines looked good but were left unfinished. some were ugly.
really, with a white base coat and all that, but nothing a bit of paint can't fix.
But the most shocking was the rhino. it looked like it was made out of a solid piece of plastic. Turns out the sides were held together more by the 1 mm thick layer of paint than the glue. Man, I was surprised almost to find a rhino beneath all those layers of paint!
I myself once made a marine with a bolt pistol, carrying a plasma gun, looks pretty cool though.

I glued one of the side doors on my son's Land Raider in backwards.
Of course being such a skilled modeler I glued it in so well that it would take dynamite to remove it at this point which irritates me to no end every time I look at it...

The first model I ever finished painting was a SM Predator with all lascannons. I spent hours painting the inside of the model, only to find out that a predator couldnt carry troops. I then procedded to paint the outside of it, with no primer and non-watered down GW paints. It looked awfeul, I still have it to this day but I will never use it in a game

Guard Heavy Weapon Crewman
|
A friend of mine said he bought something on a general trading day.(Dutch holiday, people go sell stuff on the streets real cheap. Because it was the birthday of our former queen.)
Anyway, he told me it was in a bad condition; layers of ultramarine blue and boldgun metal, oh and it was glued together with some sort of superglue. We think it is a spacemarine bike.
So he comes home, and his mom says drop it in nail polish remover(or something) for those of you that don't know: It contains thinner.
He did actually get the bike out in one piece, but the driver was completly melted. Probably because the bike was literally covered in glue.
And he got me a present aswell, some IG heavy weapon team bitz. Complete with a bended base.(how the hell do you do that?) Covered in paint and glue that apparantly was used as varnish.
Oh and I put my leman russ hatch on backwards. But it's open, so it doesn't really show. Does glueing your fingers to a model also count as bad assembling?

The worst model I've seen was a Sentinel I bought in a lot off of ebay. It had a lascannon mounted on it upside down. It also had a Dreadnought close combat weapon glued to the front without rhyme of reason.
The worst models I've eve done where a set of Catchacans. I modeled some of them them dual wielding sawn off lasguns. I also did one of my favorite models. He has his lasgun slung over his back and is running forward holing a sword in one hand a knife in the other and another knife between his teeth. I run them as Penal Legion Troopers.
I also modeled a battle squad psyker with two left hands. I call him lefty.

I will get a picture if I can, but someones first tank was a Chaos Land Raider, it was unbelievebly bad, the tracks weren't where they should be, just randomly stuck around, the Havoc Launcher was in half on the assault ramp, the spikes were everwhere and all broken but best of all, on Lascannon was on the front point, the other was at the back, but this one was upside down and only had one lascannon on it! This guy was about 12 years old and was a bit of a - you know. It also had a strange rattle, I tipped it up to find a Khorne Beserker fall out of where the Heavy Bolters should have been!

A friend of my younger brother said he couldn't find the Bolter Supporting arm of one of his chaos marines. He then decided to position his marine into holding a bolter with one hand, and scratching it's arse with the other. The funny thing is that the bum scratching arm was the arm that he said he'd lost.

One of my friends, when he was working on his first army, which I believe was Raven Guard, assembled an absolutely horrible assault squad. It looked less like they were charging into battle and more like they were tripping into battle. He even managed to glue the torso on one of the marines on upside down.
