Round 3 Kill Da Fast ones.

Annihilation with the following modifications to kill points.

1 points for a unit
2 points if the unit is a HQ
3 points in the unit can move >6" in any phase of the game
No points are cumulative for the same unit, use the highest value only.

So all vehicles including dedicated transports are worth 3 points each.

My army is hosed as it gives up 36 kill points, but other armies are even more hosed.
Some IG armies might give up 60+ kill points.
Mech is going to have a rough time.
My 36 kill point army should do ok in round 3 as long as I fight another army that's 25+ kill points.
A slow gun line should be able to remain under 20 kill points, and the only way to beat that is to table the opponent.

What I'm really worried about is scenario 3 will scare away IG armies, and I would like to fight against IG at least once in ard boys.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

The guy on the other side will be in same boat as you.

If someone playing footsloggers makes it past the first 2 rounds then the scenario could go against you. As it is foot hordes will get "WTF" owned in round 1 and 2 so odds are good your opp will give up just as many KP's as you.

It's also 'ardboyz. Suck it up and grow a pair. It's a man's tournament.

I'm glad you made this post. We needed another one to complain about this mission.

Keep it coming because I detect thread lock in t-minus 60 minutes.

Lulz I'm only at 36 kill points. The silly thing is it's middle of the road.

Let's start a competition to see who gives up the most, and who gives up the least. I wonder if anybody will go under 20 or over 70.

My bet is IG or Dark Eldar will take 1st place, probably IG.

70 here with an army that I think would do quite decently:

Q: How many of a specific demographic group are required to carry out a simple task?
A: An arbitrary number. One to carry out the task in question, and the remainder to act in a manner stereotypical of the group.

Why would you say DE? Sure they have 1 decent build but when have they taken a lot of 1st places?

I mean if you run the only build they can basically do which is take dark lances with extra wounds (Warriors) in raiders you're gonna have to kill the opponents entire army.. Just to NOT get massacred

The guard list Im running has 28 and I could drop that down to 22 pretty easily

All I gotta say is do not let a necron player get to the final round in a high spot.. If using 15 destroyers you're still under 20 Kps

The Necron list I'm taking gives up 28. The `Nid list I was looking at bringing would only have given up 17, and that's even before knowing about the mission.

I think CSM are going to be the most broken list....

All you have to do is have one Lash prince on your team and all of the opponents units are worth 3KP....

I have a fairly competitive space wolf missile list that only gives up 19 KP .. or 20 if the lone wolf somehow manages not to die.

I have a little trouble moving fast, but in all of my test games(mixed BA, Mech BA, 9 Dred BA, and 2 mech guard) at the end of the game I have more models on the table than my opponent ... Well, one of the mech guard games went horribly wrong, but I attribute that to the large open killing zone in the middle of the table that I had to cross to get to his objective .. oh and twolves losing a combat to sentinels ... :( )

What I gain in the third scenario(which I admit I wil lhave a pretty good advantage) I will struggle for in the first two ... I have six troops but I usually only finish any game with about 2 or three of them depending on how aggressive the opponent is. And they are walking, so widely spaced objectives give me fits ...

I actually had this list before the ard boyz missions were up ... was playing it at 2000... In fact I added the Twolves after knowing about the scenario, but admittedly it doesn't hurt me much and the mobility they provide is something my list really needs.

Mostly gonna echo the other opinions that the guy on the other side of the table will most likely be just as meched up as everyone else. I don't think there will be very many all foot or super low KP armies. And if there are make them hurt in the first scenario as much as you expect to hurt in the last one. If you have speed place the objectives as far apart as possible, walking armies HATE that. Sure they might put two or three in one spot, but the two that are the furthest away from theirs are going to be difficult for them to control when you can zoom over and tank shock/shoot/assault them off on the last turn, if they managed to get anything that far way from their main army. With fixed turn length there is a lot of predictability for last turn objective grabs that random game length has gotten people out of the habit of preparing for.

Play Ard and you will be fine.

Ummmm, no.
You use the unit's OWN movement rates, not those forced upon it by the opponent.

Not sure if that will fly.

The rules packet says "any of your units that have the potential to move more than 6" in a single phase."

It doesn't say "moves more than 6" in any phase."

If we're counting Lash, then every non-vehicular unit in 40k is now worth 3KP each because under the right circumstances, they all have the potential of moving more than 6" in a phase. IE, every unit in 40k is now worth 3KP.

Oh, whine, whine, whine. 'Ard Boyz are for people with all comers lists that can adapt any mission or enemy. If you don't like that they didn't make the missions so your army could easly win then don't play. I am still coming with my mech orks and will just deal with mission 3.
